Good morning, I want to thank all of you for helping get the word out to helping a Veteran who needed some help for backpacks for his children. We love our community!

A wonderful couple came in (Sherrells) and gave the family two backpacks filled with school supplies, air pods for 14 year old and a $50.00 gift card! The 14 year old came in after and he was soooo excited and so thankful. He is not in picture but dad is.

I am blessed to be in Kern County, we are a giving community!

I'm not sure if you were aware.

Veterans are protected from Discrimination.
But you are also protected from
Harrassment, Discrimination, Low Pay, and much more in the workplace. It falls in the Civil Act - Protected Class.

Bullies are not welcome in California Law.
Hostile work environments are not welcome in California.
Know your rights in California.

What is the difference between workplace bullying and harassment?
Simply put, “hostile work environment” harassment is workplace bullying that is based on one of the protected categories covered under California’s Fair Employment and Housing Act (the “FEHA”).

California employees have a legal right to be free from workplace harassing behavior on the basis of any of the following protected classes:

Race,
Religion,
Color,
National origin,
Ancestry,
Physical or mental disability,
Medical condition or genetic information,
Marital status,
S*x,
Gender,
Gender identity or gender expression,
Age,
S*xual orientation harassment, and
Military/veteran status.

Unlike workplace bullying, harassment on the basis of one of those categories is against California employment law.

We will be at this event. This event is an opportunity to ask questions, get assistance in all areas. Kern County is full of resources for our Veterans. There are so many agencies that are ready to help our Veterans.
