::MESSAGE FROM CHARLOTTE::

It is with mixed emotions that I announce that I have made the thoughtful decision to pause all operations of Southern Home Staffers for the foreseeable future. This decision was not made lightly, as this business is something that is very near and dear to me, however I realize that my growing family is my #1 job right now.

I want to sincerely thank all of our nannies and families for your trust over the last decade. If you have any questions, concerns, need resources, or referrals, please do not hesitate to reach out to me. I am always here for you and will continue to support you in any way that I can during this transition and beyond.

Thank you for your understanding and it is my hope that we can connect again sometime in the future!

Our children need a safe place to express their feelings just as we do. Creating a safe space for them to talk helps them through problems and conflict more smoothly because they know they are not alone in being human.

Here are a few helpful ways that you can create a safe space for our children:

💙 Affirm Your Children in a Positive Manner.
Let your child know that you are open to hearing what they think before making any comments or giving advice. Remind them that they are loved and valued.

💙 Stick With Them.
There might be times that your child is not able to express what they are feeling in a healthy manner. When this happens try saying, “I am here to talk when you are ready and will listen without judgment. I’m sorry that I do not understand what is going on for you, but I would like to."

💙 Use Empathy.
Whether your child chooses to open up to you or not, try to be empathetic and loving.
