Our client is looking for a DevOps Engineer to work alongside our product and development teams to continue to scale our application and infrastructure while ensuring performance and high availability. The ideal candidate communicates clearly, works well both alone and with others, enjoys learning, deploying and scaling new technologies, and is a proponent of automation/infrastructure as code.

Daily Responsibilities:

Continue to automate, scale, and patch our Azure cloud infrastructure
Automate application build and deployment pipelines
Design new systems with best practices and security
Utilize benchmarking and other tools to optimize for performance and cost
Identify and improve on possible points of failure in the infrastructure/applications
Troubleshoot incidents as they arise and conduct post-mortems
Ensure high quality monitoring coverage to prevent alert fatigue

Requirements:

3+ years experience in supporting a highly available SaaS application (Django experience is a plus)
5+ years experience administering Linux/UNIX systems
Proficiency with Azure or AWS and cloud infrastructure design
Experience with configuring and troubleshooting Kubernetes
Experience working with configuration management systems (Ansible is preferred)
Experience with managing and optimizing relational database servers (PostgreSQL and MySQL are preferred)
Experience scripting in Bash as well as Python
Understanding of and ability to troubleshoot networking technologies (Load balancing, TCP/IP, DNS)
Experience with monitoring and logging systems (Datadog and/or ELK experience is a plus)

Hirestarter's client is a startup providing continuous improvement software and helping companies engage more people in improvement for an accelerated rate of change and maximum impact.

We are looking for a talented, bright, and energetic person to join their team in their Dallas development office.

This senior full-stack developer position will have the opportunity to tackle meaningful complex challenges as they expand and improve their SaaS products.

Since they are a small team, you’ll be asked to wear many hats.

You must have a working knowledge of object-oriented programming theory, service-oriented architecture, web application architecture, JavaScript, Java, and database experience.

You will work closely with management and other team members to collaboratively solve problems and implement solutions.

Company stack is Ubuntu, MySQL, Apache/Tomcat, J2EE, Spring, Hibernate, with an HTML/JavaScript front-end using Ext JS/Sencha Touch.

This is a senior-level position, so if you have some solid JavaScript and Java experience and are looking to challenge yourself, then we’d like to talk with you!

Skills:

Proficient with HTML, CSS/Sass, and JavaScript, preferably Ext JS and Sencha Touch
Proficient with Java and working in a J2EE environment
Proficient with Spring and Hibernate frameworks
Experience with Apache Cordova and PhoneGap a plus
Experience with APIs a plus
SQL and MySQL experience
Exceptional oral and written communication skills
An eye for design and usability
Detail-oriented and well organized
