Many US engineering leaders still treat Latin American software as an early-stage bet. They shouldn't.

Brazil's IT market grew 18.5% in 2025, above the 14.1% global average, and brought in US$67.8 billion in revenue, according to ABES, the Brazilian Association of Software Companies.

The developer base is growing even faster. Brazil has 8.3 million developers on GitHub, Mexico 2.9 million, Colombia 1.7 million, and Argentina 1.6 million, each up more than 30% in a year, per 2026 data from GitHub's Innovation Graph.

These are established engineering hubs with teams already building for US clients and there's no sign the growth is slowing down.

AI-titled roles grew seven times over as a share of our placements in six months.

That's a jump from under 0.5% to 3% of everything we placed, in just two quarters: the second half of 2025 to the first half of 2026.

It's still a small slice of total hiring, but the direction is unmistakable, and it's backed by a much bigger shift in ordinary job descriptions underneath it.
