Caliper, A CorTech Company is currently in need of a Field Technician in Chesapeake, Virginia!!
Pay rate: $15.00/hr (paid weekly)
Schedule M-F 6:30am-3:00pm
Job duties:
-Works with crews engaged in sources reduction activities and the application of pesticides for the control of mosquitoes, as directed and performs work as a laborer.
-Performs tasks as necessary in the maintenance of property and equipment.
-Employs good customer service skills to interact with the general public; completes citizen service requests, and applies mosquito control measures, or refers to supervisor for mosquito control decisions
-Operates vehicles and equipment, such as pesticide application equipment, larviciding, and adulticiding trucks, w**d eaters and chainsaws, etc., as directed.
-Walks and clears numerous ditches and drainage ways of brush, fallen leaves, trees, and undergrowth to maintain drainage ways.
-Operates hand tools (such as shovels, pitchforks, bush hooks, and wheelbarrows), and motorized equipment, to maintain drainage sites.
-Prepares daily work reports and completes additional forms and reports, as required.
Requirements and Qualifications:
-High School Diploma/GED
-Must be 21 years of age; possess a valid driver’s license and a Division of Motor Vehicle report acceptable to the Company’s insurance carrier and in compliance with the Company’s driving standards.
-Must possess, or be able to obtain, OSHA chainsaw certification prior to the drainage maintenance season of any given year.
-Must have basic computer skills and utilize Microsoft Outlook, Kronos, Payroll Payday, CityPoint/SharePoint access for Employee Self Service (ESS) within 1 month (4 weeks) of employment
-Must obtain a Virginia “Registered Technician” pesticide applicator certification within 2 months (8 weeks) from the date of hire.
-Ability to pass a Motor Vehicle background check and drug screen
