Rain or shine, Atherton shows up for sustainability! 🌧️♻️

On Saturday, April 11, the Town of Atherton hosted its annual Waste Wise Event at Holbrook Palmer Park, helping residents reduce waste and take meaningful climate action right here in our community.

Despite periods of heavy rain, the event ran safely and efficiently thanks to strong coordination, dedicated staff, and a patient, supportive community. Through responsible disposal and reuse, materials were kept out of landfills where they would otherwise contribute to greenhouse gas emissions.

🚗 200+ residents served
🔌 3.08 tons of e waste recycled
📄 3.18 tons of paper securely shredded and diverted
🌱 30 cubic yards of compost distributed

Events like this support Atherton’s climate goals by reducing landfill waste, conserving resources, and encouraging sustainable habits. Thank you to everyone who participated, your actions truly make a difference. 🌍
