πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŽ“ Supporting Student Veterans. Strengthening Futures.

Thank you, Governor Kathy Hochul, for championing new measures in New York’s FY 2026–27 State Budget that will help strengthen support for Student Veterans pursuing higher education across our state.

As part of the enacted budget, New York State will establish Veterans Services Clinics at higher education institutions, including SUNY - The State University of New York and The City University of New York campuses, helping connect Student Veterans with one-on-one support to succeed both in the classroom and beyond.

These clinics will help Student Veterans access:

πŸŽ“ Tutoring support
πŸ“‹ Benefits navigation
πŸ’° Tuition assistance
🀝 Connections to Veteran support services

Approximately 33,000 Veterans are enrolled in higher education across New York State, including nearly 10,000 at SUNY and CUNY. Governor Hochul’s leadership will help ensure that more Student Veterans can access the higher education benefits they have rightfully earned and the support they deserve to succeed.

We will share additional details in the days and weeks ahead as this exciting new initiative continues to take shape.

At the New York State Department of Veterans' Services we remain committed to Serving All Who Served and helping Veterans and Military Families thrive!
