People throw superlatives around freely sometimes when they might not be totally warranted. I'm going to say what I'm about to tell you is truly extraordinary and that's probably not a strong enough superlative for what Harvey Mullet did for the tool library and our whole community. Harvey reached out to me a few days after the lawnmower fire and was offering to get me a new one. At that point, I had already accepted a mower- more on that in another post later- and when I told him that, he asked if there is anything else I needed. I told him I have a wish list a mile long and he said to send it to him and he'd see what he could put together.
I was working and sent him a quick list off the top of my head not thinking that much about it. People will from time to time ask things like that and nothing follows from it. With Harvey, it was a whole different story. He messaged me not long after, asking when he could come drop a few things off. He came that evening and when I saw what he brought I couldn't even believe it. I had told him I really needed a hammer drill to replace the worn out one we were loaning- he brought 4 of them. I had told him we needed nice socket sets because all of mine were cheap hand me down ones missing pieces- he brought 5 $250+ sets of them! He got several extension cords because I had mentioned most of mine were worn out. He brought several nice impact driver/drill sets which we desperately needed and more. In all, I'm guessing it's is over $3,000 in brand new tools that were at the top of my wish list!
I told Harvey it was way too much if he wanted to return some of it and this is what he said- exact words:
"Sir you do alot and help alot of folks around you. The stuff i dropped is materialistic stuff. What you do is way nore valuable than anything. You work a job then also help ones around you that need it. You have made one hell of an impact on people around you and is greatly appreciated by so many im sure."
There isn't good enough words to thank Harvey for what he did for all of us. The best I could do is tell him the world could use a lot more people like him. I'm hoping all of you can let him know just how much we appreciate him!
Thanks so much Harvey❤️❤️❤️
