Blue Ridge Event Staffing has saved my life. A native of Asheville, I spent decades living in NYC and LA, returning to be closer to family in 2011. Finding few jobs offering a living wage, I decided to start a company to fill that void. In LA I worked with Wolfgang Puck doing special events like The Grammys and The Oscars. North Carolina has some strange laws when it comes to serving alcohol at events. Rules about how many drinks can be served at one time, how a guest may order 2 beers but not two cocktails, laws on ID requirements, self service, specific hours where alcohol can and can’t be served. There’s even one law stating that “It is illegal to sit on the curb and drink beer from a bucket”!
