Question for the drivers:

When you’re job hunting, do you prefer working with a recruiter or applying direct to carriers? Why?

I’m asking because as a recruiter, I see a huge difference.

With me, carriers have a 48-hour rule — they have to tell us yes or no on a driver.

Apply direct and your app can turn into a ghost… no update, no call back, just stuck in limbo.

Plus I know which carriers are actually hiring for your situation so you’re not wasting time on dead-end applications.

Direct apply = you’re one of hundreds in their system, and if you don’t fit their “perfect” box, you get silenced.

1. No ghosting: That 48-hour rule is huge. Drivers hate being left on “read.”

2. Pre-qualifying: I know carrier requirements so you don’t waste a DAC hit on a company that won’t hire you.

3. One-stop shop: One app, multiple carriers. Direct = fill out the same app 10x.

4. I’ll answer the phone: Direct apply means dealing with a faceless portal. With you, they get a human.

What’s worked better for you guys?

DRIVERS TAKE NOTE! If you do an application do a COMPLETE application. That includes names, address's and phone numbers of previous employers. Answer EVERY QUESTION on every screen. Do not expect a processor or recruiter to make contact otherwise. It's not going to happen! Here is a nice for instance. Do you think we called this person? NOT!!
