USCIS has completed the initial H-1B lottery selection for FY2026, with all 85,000 slots filled (65,000 regular + 20,000 US master’s degree holders).

If you were selected:
- Your employer can now file your petition starting April 1, 2025
- Filing window is at least 90 days from selection notice
- Remember: selection allows filing but doesn’t guarantee approval
- Required documents include selection notice, valid passport proof, and qualification documentation
- If approved, H-1B employment can start October 1, 2025

Not selected? You remain eligible for potential second lottery rounds. Alternatives include:
- Trying again next year
- Exploring other visa categories (L-1, O-1, F-1 OPT extensions)
- Working with multinational employers in other locations

Note: This year’s registration fee increased significantly from $10 to $215.
