Happy Labor Day from the phClean team.

Today is for the cookout, the long nap, the lake, the last real weekend of summer before fall takes over completely. It is for the people who have been working hard since January and deserve a day that belongs entirely to them.

There is a version of phClean that existed before the three offices, before the 80-plus technicians, before the 1,200 recurring clients across central Iowa.

It was Sara, a kitchen table in Ames, and a belief that showing up consistently and treating people well was enough of a business plan.

The first clients were neighbors. The first team was small. The standard was the same as it is now: clean the home the right way, communicate honestly, and treat every person in the process with kindness and respect.

Nearly 20 years later, the kitchen table is long gone. The values that sat at it are in every hire we make, every policy we write, and every technician who goes through phClean Shine Certified training before they ever clean a home independently.

We share these moments because we think where a company comes from says something about where it is going. Central Iowa built phClean, and central Iowa is what we will always be.

Happy 2nd Work Anniversary, Sierra! 🎉

Two years ago, Sierra started as a technician in West Des Moines. Today she runs the office as Field Supervisor, and that kind of growth doesn't happen by accident.

Watching her grow from technician to supervisor in two years took real dedication, and the WDM team is better for everything she brings to it. Ask anyone on that team and they'll tell you the same thing, she's personable, funny, and genuinely cares, about the clients and about the people she now leads.

Two years of earning her way from cleaning homes to running an office, without losing the part of her that made clients love having her in their homes in the first place. Here's to year three, Sierra.

Happy 2nd Work Anniversary, Morgan! 🎉

One client was blown away when Morgan showed up. She wrote in to say it was the best clean she'd had since she first started the service, and asked for "some atta girl" to be passed along.

She's built the kind of relationship with clients that goes past the checklist. One client has said more than once that their conversations and her smile brighten his day, and eventually called her simply "a true asset to your company," someone dedicated to her regular clients. Another client remembered Morgan's birthday and left an extra tip specifically because of it.

Two years of the kind of work and warmth that keeps clients from looking anywhere else. We're grateful to have her on the Ames team.

The school year has a way of making the house harder to keep up with and giving you less time to do it.

The kitchen runs harder. The bathroom the kids use gets more traffic. The floors that were manageable in July have a lot more going on. And somewhere between school pickup and dinner and whatever is on the calendar that evening, cleaning day keeps not happening.

That is the school-year pattern. It shows up the same way every September for families who are managing it themselves.

Happy 1st Work Anniversary, Alexis! 🎉

One client had a different tech four appointments in a row before Alexis came back onto his schedule. His note said it plainly: having a regular means he can leave for a doctor's appointment and not worry about who's in his house. He was just glad to have her back.

She's also proven flexible in ways that matter. One client going through a home remodel has thanked her more than once for working around the mess and adjusting where she starts each visit without being asked twice.

And a repeat client has said the same thing two months running: Alexis goes above and beyond, and she loves having her in the home.

This is Garet.

He's one of the technicians on our team who walks into a home and gets to work without needing to be told what the standard is. He already knows, and there is a specific reason for that.

Every phClean technician goes through phClean Shine Certified before they ever clean independently. Garet trained hands-on across 14 to 16 real homes alongside an experienced trainer, then spent a minimum of three more months in supervised coaching before fully graduating. By the time he was in a client's home alone, he had already proven he could meet the phClean standard in skill, in care, and in values.

Consistency gets built into the person before she ever knocks on your door. Not hoped for afterward.

Garet has been with phClean for over two years. The families he cleans for know him by name, and he knows their homes the same way. That kind of relationship is what recurring service actually looks like once it's running. Not a cleaning appointment on the calendar. August has been a good one.

The Iowa State Fair. Back to school. The summer winding into something quieter and the fall starting to show up at the edges.

We've spent this month in homes across Ames, Ankeny, and West Des Moines doing what we've been doing since 2006: showing up, doing the work right, and leaving every home a little better than we found it.

The team that makes that happen is everything. Techs who take their work seriously. Office staff who pick up the phone and actually know your name. A company that has been part of this community for twenty years and plans to be here for twenty more.
