"One of my most memorable placements came from a candidate I sourced through a different channel than I'd used in the past. They didn't seem like the most obvious match on paper, but I saw potential in their background.

They ended up being a strong fit for the role and have settled in really well with our client’s team. It was rewarding to see how a different approach to sourcing could lead to such a positive outcome.”

For Talia Peccon, this placement was a reminder of why creative sourcing matters. The right candidate isn’t always the most obvious one on paper. Last month, I had the opportunity to unplug and spend some time in the Outer Banks with my family. It was an amazing week of rest and laughs.

Even while on vacation, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to visit the talented team at TKE’s Norfolk branch. Bill Bertone and Jordan Riganto (Marley) were wonderful hosts and sent me back to the beach with a new mug for my morning coffee.

I am thankful to work with great people at TK Elevator who value these relationships.

Three years of growth, new challenges, and plenty of great memories. We’ve loved watching Toni grow over the years and are so proud to have her on our team 💙

In what feels like the blink of an eye, today marks my three year anniversary with Lunova Group. In addition to feeling all of the love from the Lunova team today, I've been reflecting on how much I've developed both personally and professionally during my time here.

When I started my journey with Lunova as an intern, these were my priorities:

- Do what you're told
- Don't mess up
- Don't rock the boat
- Be the most agreeable and passive version of yourself

For a college senior just dipping my toe in the professional world, those felt like the right goals at the time. But within the first year of my career, I noticed a change in my priorities, as did everyone else (As my Lunova colleagues have said, the Toni of September 2023 is very different than the Toni of September 2026 😅) Three years later, this is what my priorities look like:

- Take the reigns: Raise your hand even if it's uncomfortable. Volunteer for projects, regardless of whether you've done the work before. Offer support and help to others, even if they didn't ask for it. Test out new ideas without fear of failure. Be constantly aware of how you could make your and everyone else's jobs better, even if no one asked you to.

- Take mistakes in stride: There's no such thing as a perfect employee. Simple mistakes happen, and every one of them is a learning opportunity. Some mistakes may even open doors to new ideas and processes. Admit your mistake, make it right, and decide how to prevent it in the future. Don't take yourself too seriously - it's okay to laugh at yourself when you trip up!

- Speak up: Question things that you don't understand. Be curious about perspectives different than yours. Share your thoughts even if they differ from others. Speak your mind because your opinion matters as much as everyone else's in the room.

- Be authentically yourself: Let people know who you are, not just as a coworker but as an individual. Bring your full personality to work every day. Wear your funky earrings, talk about your cats (when appropriate), and make others laugh when they need it or even when they don't 🤡 Don't be afraid that being you is "too much." Remember that you're not an add ON to the team - you're an add TO the team.

These aren't the only things I've learned these three years, but they are the first to come to mind. I'm excited for what's to come in the next three years, and the three that will come after that 🪴 Here are some of the great Lunova memories from through the years!

A clever way to look at the candidate pool. You may not know who else is in it, but you can control how well you show up for the opportunity!

With summer winding down and pools starting to close, I've been thinking more about a different kind of pool. As a candidate, you look at a job description and immediately make assumptions about the 'candidate pool' 😉

However, you really don't know much about the other candidates or the pool itself. In my experience reviewing applications, I've found an array of trends in each search and the types of people that apply for certain positions. Recruiters can also help shape the pool by driving candidate volume and intentionally engaging candidates who might not otherwise consider the position.

If you are job searching, remember that what you can control is your application and aligning your skills with the position. Don't worry about the other swimmers and dive on in!

What a night at The Bradley Center’s A Gathering of Chefs! 🍽️

Each year, the event brings together some of Pittsburgh’s talented chefs for great food, a silent auction, and fundraising to benefit the children and families served by The Bradley Center.

Some of our team helped behind the scenes as volunteers, while others came out to enjoy the evening and support the cause. Special shoutout to Liberty Costanzo for all the time and effort she put into helping organize the event!
