Talent sourcing by day, cooking and baking by night. Olivia McKenna can do it all! 😋

One of my personal goals for 2026 was pretty simple: find a new hobby.

I felt like life was getting repetitive: wake up, go to work, go home, eat dinner, do chores around the house, go to bed, repeat. I wanted to find something I genuinely enjoyed doing in my free time.

My husband had recently gotten interested in cooking after watching Instagram reels, so for Christmas, I got him the KitchenAid pasta attachment, fully expecting it to be one of those gifts we used once or twice a year. Instead, it somehow spiraled into both of us wanting to learn everything we could about cooking and baking.

Now, our favorite Saturday nights are spent at home making pasta from scratch (with a glass of w**e!), and weekend mornings often involve flipping through cookbooks and deciding what we want to make for dinner.

My cookbook collection has gone from zero to about 30, and I always find myself flipping through them, watching Barefoot Contessa, or saving recipes on TikTok that I want to try next. There’s still a LOT I don’t know, but I think that’s part of what makes it fun.

So here’s your sign to try something new! You never know what you might end up enjoying. If you had told me last year that cooking and baking would become one of my favorite ways to spend my free time, I definitely wouldn’t have believed you.

And since I now take pictures of pretty much everything we make, here are a few of my favorites from this year!

What started as a recruiting playlist has turned into part geography lesson, part team tradition, and plenty of debate over what belongs on it. 😂🎶 Always fun seeing what gets added next.

One of the fun things we have spent over 2 years creating at Lunova is a Spotify playlist made up of songs that reference one of the cities or states that we recruit in, called "The Super Awesome Req. Playlist." Although all of our team can add to the list, Toni Fama and I have added most of the songs. Most (but not all!) of the newer, cooler songs come from Toni, and most (but not all!) of the older country songs come from me. Because we recruit throughout the US, any city or state that references a song is fair game!

We have almost 90 songs so far, and we'd love any additional suggestions you have! The only rule is that the song has to list a specific city or state (below are examples), we don't include songs that only reference the entire country (e.g. "Born in the USA" wouldn't apply).

Some of my particular faves on our playlist include:

A strong resume can tell you what someone has accomplished. It doesn’t always tell you how they’ll lead.

July somehow flew by (and honestly, this whole summer has). ☀️

This month gave me an opportunity to step away from the usual routine, make special memories with family and friends, and appreciate the quiet moments (who knew I’d get lost in a book and enjoy a long plane ride?).

It was a good reminder that stepping away doesn’t mean losing momentum. Rather, it can allow us to come back with fresh energy and a greater appreciation for the work we do.
