We are a future non-profit organization the Society of East African Petroleum Engineers and Geoscientists.
1.AIMS:
The aim of SEAPEG is stimulating petroleum sector efficient performance for regional economic developments through human resources development.
2.MISSION
The Society of Eastern Africa Petroleum Engineers and Geoscientist (SEAPEG) is a regional professional organization for petroleum engineers and geoscientists. Our is to train, transform and develop capable human resources for parallel optimum petroleum natural resources exploration and exploitation for regional economic development. The SEAPEG mission also includes acting as a think tank for optimized exploitation of petroleum resources in Eastern Africa region. Our mission can be subdivided into the following categories:
a) Educational Mission
Research and Dissemination of technical information. It will be done through technical conferencing, career mentorship, provision of opportunities (workshop and trainings, scholarships, fellowships, etc.) in order to support present and future industry professionals and elaborating academic publication outlets and sharing platforms such as online bookstore and libraries for petroleum engineering and geoscience subjects or other related subjects. b) Networking & Connecting Mission
Regular regional meetings and conference will be organized to advocate membership recruitments and membership growth and development, extending web presence and diversify online means of networking, publication or other form of information sharing activities, about petroleum sector subjects and its related news. c) Entrepreneurial Mission
SEAPEG is also meant to create jobs in its future through different initiatives providing opportunities especially to east African young people aspiring to work in the industry. Those initiatives include bilateral projects with governments, SMEs related to petroleum sector such as marketing and sales of petroleum products, E&P industry logistics and consultancy. This mission which will go in hands with our long term goals will lead us to switch our legal declarations in the region, leaving non-profit to profit making organization for the sake of our long term goals. This is also extended to creation of a separate SEAPEG created or supported Oil and gas E&P or Logistics Company to become a flagbearer of East African people as it is dreamt to have a capacity of working at high standards and create numerous jobs for indigenous East African professionals
3.GOALS
Short term goals encompass building capacity of Easter African professionals in petroleum and other related sectors through networking among East African petroleum and geoscience professionals and cooperating with other private sectors around the world in order to provide professional technical trainings for and immediate and tangible preparedness of indigenous eastern African workforce. Long term goals include jobs creation through various SEAPEG entrepreneurial initiatives around Eastern African Region and the continent such as marketing, investing in various oil and gas businesses, fostering research and education through primary and secondary data collection and dissemination such as field researches, online petroleum engineering and geosciences library, and academic and industry news publications.
