Youth and Women Hackathon: Solutions for East Africa's Economic Integration.
This Hackathon is designed to drive regional economic integration within the East African Community's (EAC) by harnessing the creativity and entrepreneurial spirit of women and youth Civil Society Organizations (CSOs)from across the eight EAC Partner States.
At its core, the hackathon is a dynamic platform for nurturing innovation and collaboration, empowering partici- -pants to devise, refine, and elevate transformative projects that address critical barriers to regional trade in ser -vices.

By focusing on key sectors such as tourism, agriculture, finance, ICT, logistics, and environmental management, the hackathon seeks to generate actionable and scalable solutions that will enhance flow of services across borders, streamline economic cooperation, and foster inclusive growth within the region.

Through this initiative, women and youth are not only provided a stage to showcase their ideas but are also equipped with the tools, mentorship, and networks needed to turn these ideas into sustainable ventures that contribute to EAC's broader economic and social development goals. The hackathon fosters a spirit of regional collaboration, offering a unique opportunity to tackle shared challenges and leverage the collective potential of East Africa’s most dynamic populations —its women and youth.

Anzisha Prize Venture Building Fellowship 2025 for young African Entrepreneurs (USD $140,000 Prize to grow your Business)

The Anzisha Prize is Africa’s biggest award for her youngest entrepreneurs aged 15 - 22 years, and hands out over USD $140,000 every year in business support and prize money to very young entrepreneurs from all over the continent.

The Anzisha Prize is a venture building fellowship program that has successfully supported and championed very young entrepreneurs for over 10 years. The fellowship is a multi-year program that celebrates and rewards business growth. During the course of the fellowship, the program will track the performance of the business and the entrepreneur. Businesses that show exemplary growth and initiative are rewarded with benefits and services such as short courses, cloud services and cash stipends. At the end of the second year, entrepreneurs will pitch their businesses and successes for a chance to win their share of prizes to the value $50 000.

Eligibility Requirements

You must be between 15 and 22 years old.

You must have an ID document or Passport to present as evidence.

Your business, invention or social project can be in any field or industry (science and technology, civil society, arts and culture, sports, etc.). Any kind of venture is welcome to apply. Individuals who apply must be one of the founding members of a business (for example, 2 or 3 co-founders who started a business together)
