🧭 As part of the project journey, they embarked on a field trip to northern Italy to deepen their understanding and gain valuable real-world insights into the value chain of industries they’ll be studying on in their project.

🔋 First stop: 𝐁𝐢𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐧 in Maniago—a green-tech leader in organic waste recycling and renewable energy production. From composting ♻️ to anaerobic digestion 🌱, we explored how innovation meets sustainability. A big thank you to the team for the comprehensive presentation and facility tour!
🧪 Second stop: SERICHIM S.r.l. in Torviscosa. This company develops synthetic methods and industrial processes for fine chemicals and APIs 💊. Touring their labs gave us a closer look at the science behind their high-impact innovations. Serichim is also actively engaged in forward-looking initiatives such as META Circularity and NACHIP - North Adriatic Clean Hydrogen Investment Platform, which further highlight their commitment to sustainable and circular solutions.

💡 Filled with fresh knowledge and inspiration, the 32nd Generation is excited to tackle new challenges and explore opportunities in Slovenia’s 𝗱𝗲𝗲𝗽-𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵, 𝗯𝗶𝗼-𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻-𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵 ecosystems.

Many thanks for Jurij Giacomelli and his team for organising such excellent visits.

🎓 This week, within the 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐀𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐬 𝐂𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐬 course which is part of the Marketing Module—led by Prof. Dr. Irena Vida—our students had the exceptional opportunity to learn from Prof. Dr. Selma Kadic-Maglajlic from the Copenhagen Business School.

We are grateful for Professor Kadic-Maglajlic’s engaging sessions, which focused on three crucial pillars of international marketing:
🔹 𝐒𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐬 – Exploring how culturally informed approaches can transform the sales process and build lasting client relationships across borders.
🔹 𝐍𝐞𝐠𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 – Unpacking the impact of cultural nuances on negotiation strategies, and how to adapt for »win-win« outcomes.
🔹 𝐄𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐬 – Delving into the ethical challenges in global markets and how to navigate them with integrity and responsibility.

A big thank you to Professor Selma for sharing her expertise and enriching our students' learning experience!

Students from the Digital Marketing and Technology Management modules recently visited the Municipality of Kranj—one of Slovenia’s most forward-thinking and dynamic municipalities in the field of smart city development.

Kranj was selected for this visit as it is part of the Mission for Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities by 2030 and has received several prestigious awards, including:
🏆 Golden Stone 2025 for the most progressive municipality
🌿 European Destination of Excellence for sustainable tourism
🛡️ Safest City in Slovenia (2022)
🔌 Most E-Mobility-Friendly Municipality (2021)

Among the many innovations presented was the CeKR card, a tool enabling identification, payments, and soon even loyalty rewards—usable both online and offline via smartphone.

This field trip, part of the PKP project, provided students with a new perspective on how technology is transforming the public sector, the challenges faced, and the key role of motivation and expertise in driving innovation.

We had the pleasure of welcoming back Maja Brelih Lotrič, CEO of LOTRIČ Metrology Ltd., a family-owned company with offices in 7 countries 🌍 and more than 20,000 clients worldwide 📊.

Maja, an alumna of the 23rd Generation of IMB students, returned to the IMB premises to share her insights and professional journey. The discussion was moderated by Domen Arne Jelovčan, President of the IMB Alumni community.
