👀 There are some taboo questions that your interviewer should not ask but this question is one of them.
💰 You might be tempted to answer with, "none of your business", but of course, you can't.
😶Some interviewers will ask this question in hopes that you slip up and say something incriminating, but even if you don't, they'll think you are under pressure.
⚡️Poorly prepared interviewers, caught off-guard by this question, often divulge unnecessary personal information or confess to past career mistakes. None of these answers are helpful.
🔝It is best to never admit your regrets. However, do not make it seem as if You are avoiding the question either.
🟢The best strategy is to say that You don't have any regrets and then add a principle or habit that you practice regularly for maintaining healthy relationships with others.
🤔For example, take a pause to really think about the question as if It never came up before. Spend some time mulling over the answer.
🗯️Then say something like "You know, I really can't think of anything." (take another pause) and follow up with:
🗯️"I have one habit that helps me a lot to avoid regrets and It is, at the end of each day I think back on what happened during the day. With this system in place, I can follow up with people to see how they're doing. Sometimes I'll realize that something does need more follow-up, whether It's praise or maybe just a short chat in someone's office."
