Mughal Iron & Steel Industries Limited โ a leader in Pakistan's steel industry โ is seeking a dedicated and skilled Engine Room Operator (ERO) to join our Power Plant Operations team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a critical function in ensuring smooth and uninterrupted energy supply at our industrial facility.
Job Summary:
The Engine Room Operator (ERO) will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and continuous operation of all mechanical and auxiliary systems within the engine room of a gas power plant. This includes real-time monitoring, first-level maintenance, and adherence to operational standards and safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate and monitor engine room equipment such as pumps, compressors, lubrication and cooling systems, and fuel handling units.
Conduct regular inspections of all mechanical components to ensure optimal functionality.
Monitor and maintain fluid levels (oil, coolant, fuel) within required parameters.
Detect and report abnormal operating conditions (vibration, noise, leaks, overheating).
Assist with plant start-up and shutdown procedures under the CRO's supervision.
Maintain accurate and timely shift logs and operational records.
Ensure cleanliness, organization, and safety of the engine room area.
Perform minor preventive maintenance; escalate major mechanical issues to the maintenance team.
Follow safety, health, and environmental regulations strictly.
Participate in emergency response drills and permit-to-work procedures.
Qualifications & Experience:
๐ Education:
03-year Diploma in Mechanical Technology from a recognized institution.
๐งฐ Experience:
2 to 4 years of hands-on experience in engine room operations in gas power plants or marine engine room environments.
Strong familiarity with gas turbine auxiliaries and mechanical systems in power generation setups.
Key Skills:
In-depth understanding of mechanical and rotating equipment operations.
Ability to identify early warning signs of mechanical failure.
Strong grasp of basic safety protocols and emergency procedures.
Effective communication, teamwork, and shift handover reporting.
