In today's installment of the Salim Habib University Career Placement & Industrial Liaison Office's Backpack to Briefcase Series of Alumni Success Stories, we feature Aaisha Siddiqua, a Doctor of Pharmacy graduate of the Class of 2022, who now works as a Quality Assurance Officer at Hamdard Pakistan.
Here's what Aaisha has to say about her journey:
"Throughout my lifetime, I have always urged myself to be the best version of myself. Luckily, as a student, I have always been granted with the best opportunities in terms of academics. I first studied at St. Joseph's Convent High School and then continued in St. Joseph's College as a Science student. I then continued my education as a Pharm D student at Salim Habib University.
I loved being a part of this University and getting the multiple platforms it provided to me to face my fears and to explore myself and my skills.
The best part of academics at SHU was exposure to the corporate world through internships in renowned pharmaceuticals such as Indus Pharma, Martin Dow, and Barrett Hodgson Pakistan. This helped me gain experience of the corporate world and bridged the gaps between studies and the practical field. Having experienced such a career-oriented environment, I was successful in securing the position of QA Officer in Hamdard Pakistan, which is a major success for me. Special credit goes to my mentors for grooming me and my personality in such an honourable manner, for which I will always be grateful to them. I also thank the Career Placement & Industrial Liaison Office at SHU, which organized the Career Connect 1.23 job fair through which I was able to secure my current placement, and for the Office's support and facilitation."
We are proud of you, Aaisha!

In this installment of Salim Habib University's Backpack to Briefcase Series of Alumni Success Stories, we feature Amima Talat Fatima, a Doctor of Pharmacy graduate of the Class of 2022, who now works in the Operations and Quality Department as a Quality Assurance Officer at Glaxo Smith Kline (GSK) Pakistan.
This is what Amima has to say about her journey:
"The most crucial lesson I took away from my mentors during my academic career is that the most crucial lessons can't be learnt during your time as a student. I now enter a sea of expertise, knowledge, and respectability in order to learn that. During my academic life, I always knew it wouldn't be easy because of the rigorous course load, the need to balance work with extracurricular activities, and other factors, but I also knew that in the end, effort always pays off which is why my academic record has always been impeccable and because of how I performed, my professors would always compliment me along the way. Aside from some wonderful experiences, my academic life was not all roses; I also had some of my biggest failures, which only served to improve me.
In addition to supporting me in my academic career, Salim Habib University's Faculty of Pharmacy helped me secure an internship with the global pharmaceutical business Martin Dow Ltd. Along with having a passion for research study, my mentors helped me immensely in getting my piece published in The News International. Without my family, incredible instructors, and mentors, none of these accomplishments would be possible. Now that I've joined GSK Pakistan, I want to thank my university and Pharmacy professors for turning me into a self-assured person who possesses all the skills necessary for success in the workplace."

Here's what Sufiyan has to say about his journey:
"The journey from being a student to entering the professional world has been incredibly fulfilling.
My academic career as a business graduate student has been a transformative journey. I feel an immense sense of pride when I compare the Sufiyan who entered university in 2018 with the person I have become today. I was never solely a studious student, despite my preference towards fun activities, interaction with the students of every department, class bunks, and engaging in extracurricular pursuits, I was able to successfully balance my commitments even while working in the evenings along with pursuing my studies with a commendable CGPA. This balanced arrangement was made possible by the continuous support and guidance of the university's faculty.
I have realized that you can't just rely on books to gain knowledge. It's important to have wisdom and skills in all aspects of life. The curriculum at SHU has been thoughtfully designed to foster interactions with different departments, facilitating networking opportunities and enabling us to learn from diverse perspectives.
As I embark on my professional journey with Cybernet by Lakson Group of Companies as a Sales Executive, I reflect on how interesting a ride it has been so far, engaging and learning with professionals. Thanks to the unwavering support of the university faculty, securing a job in a renowned group right after graduation became a seamless process for me."
We are proud of you, Sufiyan!
