Design Systems and Operational UX
* Build and maintain scalable Figma component libraries, design tokens, and reusable interface systems.
* Design operational interfaces that clearly present alarms, statuses, occupancy, HVAC controls, and energy data.
* Create intuitive navigation flows between ship overview, deck view, cabin view, and operational tools.
* Create themed UI variants for different cruise operators while maintaining consistent system structure.

Collaboration and Documentation
* Collaborate closely with Niagara engineers to validate designs against framework constraints.
* Design within Niagara Px, ResponsivePane, PxInclude, and UxMedia compatibility requirements.
* Produce annotated handover documentation including interaction specs, accessibility notes, and implementation guidance.
* Export design tokens as CSS variables and/or JSON for Niagara theming integration.

AI Workflow and Ownership
* Use AI tools such as ChatGPT and Claude for research, documentation, and workflow support.
* Take ownership of outcomes and proactively contribute ideas and solutions.
* Work independently while collaborating effectively with Forest Rock’s design and engineering teams.
* Apply critical thinking to understand how operational systems connect and function beyond visual interface design.
📌 REQUIREMENTS:
Experience
* Minimum 5 years of experience in UI/UX design, industrial systems UI, or operational monitoring interface design.
* Strong background in enterprise, industrial, SCADA, building management, or control-room UI design.
* Proven experience owning and scaling design systems end-to-end.
* Experience designing data-dense dashboards, alarm systems, or operational interfaces.
* Experience in maritime, aviation, energy, or other 24/7 operational industries is highly advantageous.

Education
* Bachelor’s degree in UI/UX Design, Product Design, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
* Equivalent practical experience may be considered.

Technical Skills
* Expert-level proficiency in Figma including auto-layout, variants, component libraries, and scalable design systems.
