🚨 PUBLIC ADVISORY | LEGAL CLARIFICATION FOR OFWs BOUND FOR ITALY
To protect our Overseas Filipino Workers from confusion and misinformation, this is to formally clarify:
Claims circulating on social media that “one (1) month salary must be paid for OEC processing” are misleading and must be viewed with caution.
⚠️For HOUSEHOLD SERVICE WORKERS / DOMESTIC HELPERS:
Under Revised DMW Rules and regulations for HSWs RA 11641 DMW Act.
100% EXEMPTED FROM PLACEMENT FEE or NO PLACEMENT FEE shall be collected from workers.
ZERO.
No one-month salary.
No placement fee.
No unauthorized collections.
Further:
📌 The MWO Milan Advisory clearly states:
✔ OEC is FREE OF CHARGE
✔ OFW Pass is FREE OF CHARGE
✔ No payment is required for issuance through official channels
📌 The Philippines–Italy Bilateral Labour Migration Agreement likewise promotes lawful recruitment, protection of workers, and safeguards against unjust financial burden on Filipino workers.
⚠️ During the release of Nulla Osta, OFWs are urged to be extra vigilant.
Verify only through:
✔ DMW
✔ MWO Milan
✔ Licensed Agencies only
Avoid unauthorized intermediaries and misleading social media claims that may cause confusion or exploit workers.
For clarity:
At JOB EMPLOYMENT SERVICES:
✔ NO placement fee is collected from household workers
✔ Employer shoulders legitimate processing costs, when applicable and compliant
✔ Payment, if any employer-billed service arrangement exists, is not charged to the worker
We do not earn from workers.
We earn by doing things the right way.
Misleading OFWs for financial gain is unfair to workers and dangerous to the public.
Truth matters.
Compliance matters.
OFWs deserve correct information.
