Royal Cargo Strengthens Safety Excellence Through PHL and CID Equipment and Safety Training
As part of its commitment to operational excellence, safety, and workforce development, Royal Cargo successfully conducted the PHL and CID Equipment and Safety Training on June 3-4, 2026, at Max's Restaurant, Sucat, attended by 75 personnel from the Projects and Heavylift (PHL) and Crane Installation Department (CID).
The initiative was conceptualized by Mr. Elmer Francisco U. Sarmiento, Chief Strategy Officer of Royal Cargo, in collaboration with Mr. Rodrigo De Roma, Vice President for Projects and Heavylift. The training forms part of the organization's continuing efforts to professionalize and institutionalize the Heavylift and Crane Installation divisions, ensuring the highest standards of safety, operational efficiency, and technical competence.
Royal Cargo President Mr. Andrew Kurt Raeuber was also present during the event, reaffirming the company's commitment to safety and people development.
Throughout the program, participants enhanced their knowledge and awareness of equipment safety, proper maintenance procedures, safe handling of heavy equipment, and key concepts in heavy lift and crane installation operations. The training was specifically designed to prepare teams for current and upcoming projects while reinforcing Royal Cargo's culture of safety and operational excellence.
In his message to the participants, Mr. Sarmiento emphasized that the program is only the beginning of a broader initiative focused on the continuous upskilling and reskilling of employees. He reiterated management's commitment to developing structured training programs that will ensure the effective transfer of technical knowledge and operational expertise to both current and future employees, supporting the organization's long-term growth and capability development.
Through initiatives such as the PHL and CID Equipment and Safety Training, Royal Cargo continues to invest in its people, strengthen technical competencies, and reinforce a safety-first culture that supports its mission of delivering world-class logistics, heavy lift, and crane installation solutions.
The training was conducted in partnership with theWorld Safety Organization (WSO) Philippines, withEngr. Jojo Desiderio, a respected safety professional, serving as resource speaker and consultant. Participants gained valuable insights on Occupational Safety and Health (OSH), workplace safety, risk management, and compliance.
The training was organized through the collaborative efforts of the HR, HSSE, PHL & CID Teams ensuring continuous development for all Royal Cargo Employees.
