This is a position built for someone who wants to stay for years: the salary rises for the first three years and then holds steady, and a guaranteed loyalty premium of β¬ 1,000 is paid once you complete two years of service.
WHO WE ARE
The household is one single parent, Giulio, living alone in the house. A 14-year-old daughter stays on alternating weekends and one weekday evening for dinner. Two adult children live in Milan and visit occasionally, mainly during summer holidays.
There are two cats. No other staff lives in the house. A gardener comes in for the garden work.

The guest house is yours. It is not shared, it is not inside the main house, and it can be used freely on days off and during illness. There are no security cameras inside it.
Outside there is a pool you can use in summer.
The main house has 4 bedrooms, a study, a home cinema room, a pool and an outdoor area, about 450 sqm in total.
WHAT WE OFFER
Salary
Year of service
Net monthly salary
Year 1 β¬ 950
Year 2 β¬ 1,050
Year 3 and after β¬ 1,150 (fixed by contract)
The increases for the first three years are automatic and written into the contract, not at the employer's discretion. From the third year onward, the monthly salary is fixed β but see the loyalty premium below, which is where the reward for staying longer comes from.
Loyalty premium Once you complete 24 months of service, you receive a loyalty premium of β¬ 1,000, paid as a single payment. This one is guaranteed and written into the contract.
From the following years onward, the employer may pay a further yearly bonus of up to β¬ 1,000, decided each year at the employer's discretion. In the year you receive it, β¬ 1,000 is the equivalent of about β¬ 83 extra per month on top of your salary.
How the salary works under San Marino law
The salary is paid over 12 monthly payments. Under San Marino law this category of employment has no 13th-monthpayment and no severance fund (TFR): both are already included in the net amount you receive each month. This is different from Italy, and it is the reason the monthly figure is what it is.
Social security contributions are paid by the employer in full, on top of your net salary.
Meals and accommodation Free of charge, and never deducted from your salary. You can draw on the food bought for the household. Free accommodation in the guest house described above, with all bills included.
Car-A car is provided for the daily errands and is also available to you in your free time, following a shared calendar when the children are staying.
Fuel and insurance are paid by the employer. Traffic fines, and tire wear in proportion to the kilometers you drive privately, are yours. Damage caused by you is yours, subject to the insurance policy.
Leave and time off 15 calendar days of paid annual leave per year, accrued monthly, as provided by the DMW standard contract. Public holidays follow the Italian calendar. Saturday afternoon and Sunday are free every week.
Health coverage
Once legally employed you can use the San Marino state hospital for emergencies and a general practitioner for routine consultations. Specialist treatments and medication are not included.
WHAT THE EMPLOYER PAYS FOR
In line with DMW standards for household service workers,
all of the following are paid by the employer:
-The flight from the Philippines to San Marino at the start of the contract
-The flight back to the Philippines at the end of the contract, or if the contract ends through no fault of the worker A round-trip economy ticket at each contract renewal, plus 15 days of paid vacation leave, as provided by the DMW standard contract Medical and dental care, as provided by the DMW standard contract.
-All recruitment, agency and administrative costs
-Visa and work permit costs. The medical examination required for hiring in San Marino (approx. β¬ 250) and the yearly renewal (approx. β¬ 50).Under San Marino law these are paid by the worker, so you pay them first and the employer reimburses you in full against receipts.
-No recruitment fee, placement fee or travel cost will ever be charged to you or deducted from your salary.
-Your passport and personal documents remain in your possession at all times.
WORKING HOURS
The contract is full time: 39 hours per week β 7 hours a day from Monday to Friday, plus 4 hours on Saturday morning.
The work is lighter than the size of the house suggests, because one person lives here and the house sees very little wear.
You decide how to organize your own day.
There is no fixed clock to follow: what matters is that breakfast is ready in the morning, that dinner is prepared and served in the evening, that lunch is ready on the days the children are here, and that the cleaning plan is followed.
In practice this usually means about four hours in the morning and three in the late afternoon, with a long break in
between that is entirely yours. As an example of how it has worked well: Time Monday to Friday
08:00 β 12:00
Breakfast, kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms, living areas, grocery shopping and errands, cats (first round)
12:00 β 17:00
Free β about 5 hours
17:00 β 20:00
Laundry and ironing, the rotating task of the day, cats (second round), dinner around 19:00, serving and clearing up
Saturday: 08:00 to 12:00, then free. No dinner is prepared on Saturday.
Sunday: completely free.
You have a continuous night rest of at least 12 hours, from 20:00 to 08:00.
DUTIES
Cleaning the house following a written plan that already exists: daily routine, fixed weekly tasks, monthly rotation for deep cleaning, with checklists. The work is structured and predictable, not improvised.
Laundry, ironing and garment care.
Cooking breakfast and dinner Monday to Friday (dinner around 19:00, no dinner on Saturday). Lunch only on request. The weekly menu, the recipes and the dietary restrictions are already written in the operations manual.
Weekly grocery shopping, following a shopping list, using the car provided. Labels and ingredients are in Italian Lens and Google Translate on your phone are what you will use to read them.
Receiving the mail.
Occasionally driving to the train station (about 30 minutes there and back) to collect the children, or driving the daughter to friends' houses.
Routine pool maintenance in summer, for example cleaning the filters.
Keeping an eye on the garden and flagging problems (for example a stuck robot lawn mower or a broken irrigation system). Actual garden work is done by the gardener.
Care of the two cats: food and water, litter box, brushing twice a day, nail check once a week.
An operations manual in English covering all of the above already exists and will be given to you.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
-Woman, around 40 to 50 years old
(approximately: it is a preference, not a strict limit)
-At least 2 years of experience as a housekeeper in a private household. A valid Philippine driver's licence, AND the International -Driving Permit obtained in the Philippines before departure
β without the IDP you cannot legally drive here. Please read the dedicated section below carefully, this point is essential Confident with a smartphone: you must be able to use to read Italian labels and ingredients while doing the shopping, and to handle messages and photos. This is used every week, not occasionally English is sufficient. Italian is a plus, not a requirement. If you speak only
-English we will provide specific training for the daily routine.
-Someone looking for a long-term position, several years, not a short assignment.
Practical, flexible, able to handle unexpected situations, and pleasant to live alongside DRIVING LICENCE β PLEASE READ THIS CAREFULLY. Driving is a real requirement of this job, not an optional extra: the weekly grocery shopping and the errands are done by car, alone.
Two documents are needed, not one:
1. Your Philippine driver's licence, valid and with a long expiry date left.
2. The International Driving Permit (IDP), which you must obtain
in the Philippines, before you.
The IDP is what makes your Philippine licence usable in Italy and San Marino. On its own, the Philippine licence is not enough: without the IDP you cannot legally drive here, and you would not be able to do the shopping, which is a core part of the job.
You cannot obtain it after arriving.
The local driving licence can only be obtained by sitting a written exam held in Italian, which is not a realistic path.
Two practical points:
Choose the 2-year or 3-year IDP, not the 1-year one. It costs more in Manila but saves you the trouble later.
The IDP can be renewed online from here, without going back to the Philippines, for as long as your Philippine licence stays valid. So keep the underlying licence renewed and up to date: it is the document everything else depends on.
If you are unsure whether your licence and permit situation is in order, tell us before we go any further. It is better to sort it out now than to discover it after arriving.
TWO THINGS SAID OPENLY
The employer lives alone.
The household is one man, with his daughter present on alternating weekends. This is why the accommodation is a fully independent guest house, with its own entrance and its own key, and no cameras inside it.
There are security cameras in the main house, in the shared working areas only, for security of property. There are none in the bedrooms, none in the bathrooms and none in your guest house.
This is written into the contract.
