It’s so easy to fall into the trap of keeping score—measuring our effort, our timing, or our progress against everyone around us. We catch ourselves thinking, “I worked harder,” or “I’ve been at this longer, so I deserve more.”

Grace doesn't operate on an hourly wage, and God’s goodness isn't a limited resource that runs out if someone else gets a share. The Parable of the Workers in the Vineyard is a gentle reminder to stop counting other people’s blessings and start noticing our own. It’s never too late to show up, and someone else’s good news doesn't take away from yours.

Let go of the scoreboard today. Celebrate where you are, celebrate the blessings of others, and rest in the fact that love and grace are always given freely. ✨

The latest 𝗦𝗲𝗮𝗳𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗿 𝗛𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗲𝘅 (𝗤𝟮 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲) is out, and the numbers show a concerning slide—overall satisfaction dropped from 7.18 down to 6.87 out of 10.

While strong crew camaraderie and internet connectivity keep spirits up, grueling workloads and restricted shore leave are taking a heavy toll. As Ben Bailey from The Mission to Seafarers put it: "𝙀𝙣𝙙𝙪𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙞𝙨 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙖𝙢𝙚 𝙖𝙨 𝙬𝙚𝙡𝙡𝙗𝙚𝙞𝙣𝙜."

𝗤𝘂𝗶𝗰𝗸 𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗤𝟮 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁:
📉𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗛𝗶𝘁𝘀: Shore leave satisfaction plummeted to 5.72/10, alongside heavy workloads (6.20/10).
🚢𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻:Middle East routes (4.94) and container ship crews (5.85) reported the lowest happiness levels.
🤝𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗦𝗽𝗼𝘁𝘀: Strong onboard friendships (7.49/10) and family connectivity (7.46/10) remain vital lifelines.
⚠️𝗥𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗔𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗺: A growing number of young crew members see fewer reasons to stay at sea over shore jobs.

To keep global trade moving, the industry needs to focus on the basics: proper rest, guaranteed shore leave, fair pay, and reliable connectivity.

To ensure better welfare and responsive labor assistance for our Filipino seafarers, the 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗟𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 (𝗗𝗢𝗟𝗘) has officially established the 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗟𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿 𝗔𝗳𝗳𝗮𝗶𝗿𝘀 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 (𝗠𝗟𝗔𝗢) under Administrative Order No. 283.

This dedicated office brings multiple key agencies and services under one unified framework to better serve our maritime workforce:

𝗙𝗮𝘀𝘁 & 𝗙𝗮𝗶𝗿 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗽𝘂𝘁𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Streamlined handling of monetary claims, salaries, statutory benefits, and death/disability compensation through SEnA and the NLRC/NCMB.

𝗙𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗟𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲: Ensuring no seafarer is left without representation through the Labor Attorney's Office and partner legal aid networks.

Today, 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟴, the Philippines celebrates the Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Officially declared as a 𝙎𝙥𝙚𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙡 𝙒𝙤𝙧𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙃𝙤𝙡𝙞𝙙𝙖𝙮 under 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗔𝗰𝘁 𝗡𝗼. 𝟭𝟭𝟯𝟳𝟬, signed into law on August 13, 2019, this day gives Filipinos across the nation an opportunity to pause, reflect, and give devotion to the Blessed Mother.
