Thank You to Our Visitors This Week!

Navigator Gas was delighted to welcome several valued partners to our office this week, shortly after their attendance at Crew Connect Global. It was a great opportunity to catch up, exchange ideas, and strengthen our working relationships.

We thank Garrets, a leading maritime provision, catering, and stores management company and an important stakeholder in our ship management operations. We also thank Ankaa Recruiter, the recruitment platform we rely on to reach qualified seafarers. Our appreciation also goes to Turtle, a German maritime tech and human resources company that runs a digital job marketplace and global manning agency, connecting seafarers directly with shipping companies. Turtle is one of our recruitment partners in Europe.

⚓ 30 Years of Dedication, Lessons, and Milestones

For Samuel Corpuz, three decades of service represent more than just years at sea. They tell a story of hard work, perseverance, and providing a better future for his family.

Among his proudest achievements are helping his four children complete their education and building a home for his family. Along the way, one of the most valuable lessons Samuel learned was the importance of getting along and working well with colleagues.

His simple advice to those just starting their journey:
“Love your job and follow company policies.”

🚢 Exciting Progress Ahead!

Navigator Nova and Navigator Prominence are preparing for their upcoming conversions to run on ethane.

Building on the successful conversion and operation of Navigator Aurora eight years ago, this project reflects continued confidence in ethane technology and the operational benefits it can deliver.

𝗡𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗚𝗮𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗶𝘁𝘀
Everllence PrimeServ – Everllence’s after-sales division – has signed a contract with Navigator Gas, the liquefied-gas shipping company, for the conversion of two of its vessels to ethane-running.

Both conversions are based on the eight years of service experience gained by Navigator Gas’s ‘Navigator Aurora’ that previously underwent an identical conversion in 2018 by Everllence.

Under the terms of the project, the liquefied-gas carrier sisters, ‘Navigator Nova’ and ‘Navigator Prominence’ – both currently equipped with individual Everllence B&W 6S50ME-GI Mk8.2 engines – will be retrofitted to ME-GIE (-Gas Injection Ethane) units under IMO Tier II compliance. COSCO Shipping Heavy Industries (CSHI) will carry out the work at its Nantong yard in China.

The first conversion is scheduled to commence in March 2027 at CHI Nantong, with Everllence PrimeServ responsible for executing the scope of the engine retrofit.

Kaj Pilemand, Director of Vessel Operations at Navigator Gas, said: “Eight years of operational experience with Navigator Aurora have given us strong confidence in the ME-GIE solution and the value it brings to our fleet. Converting Navigator Nova and Navigator Prominence is a natural next-step, allowing us to build on proven technology and real operational experience.”

Michael Petersen, Senior Vice President and Head of PrimeServ Denmark, Everllence, noted: “Navigator Gas returning to us for two additional engine upgrades is a hugely positive acknowledgement of our expertise in supporting customers' operational desire for fuel flexibility. Our proven and experienced upgrade platform offers fuel flexibility across a wide range of vessel segments, enabling the supply of cost-effective compliant fuel in an ever-changing market for shipowners.”

⚓ Maritime Trivia: LPG Tankers⚓

Did you know?

🔹 LPG tankers carry gases as liquids. Propane and butane are cooled or pressurized so they take up much less space, making global transportation possible.

🔹 A propane cargo can be carried at around -42°C. At this temperature, propane remains liquid at near atmospheric pressure inside fully refrigerated LPG carriers.

🔹 There are three main types of LPG carriers: fully pressurized, semi-refrigerated, and fully refrigerated. Each type is designed for different cargo volumes and trade routes.

🔹 The largest LPG carriers are called VLGCs. "Very Large Gas Carriers" can transport up to about 90,000 cubic meters of LPG in a single voyage.

🔹 Some modern LPG tankers can run on LPG fuel. These dual-fuel vessels reduce emissions while using part of the cargo as fuel.

🔹 Safety comes first. LPG tankers undergo strict cargo handling procedures, including inerting, purging, and controlled cooling of tanks to prevent hazardous conditions.

🌍 Fun Fact: Without LPG tankers, millions of homes worldwide would have difficulty accessing cooking gas, heating fuel, and important petrochemical products used every day.

Vessel feature of the day! 🚢

M/T Navigator Titan! 😎

We are proud to share the outstanding performance of M/T Navigator Titan in 2026, achieved under the leadership of Captain Arlo Lacuesta and the vessel's dedicated crew.

Navigator Titan focused on high standards of safety, compliance, and operational readiness. The hard work paid off with impressive inspection results. On May 9, the vessel passed a USCG inspection in Marcus Hook, USA with zero observations. On May 22, it was inspected under Paris MoU in Rafnes, Norway and received only one minor observation. On July 18, a CDI inspection in Houston, Texas resulted in just two minor observations, both related to vessel design and not crew performance. Then on August 12, the vessel achieved another perfect result with zero observations during a Viña del Mar MoU inspection in San Lorenzo, Argentina.

These results are a true reflection of the professionalism and teamwork of the entire crew, guided by Captain Lacuesta's leadership.

But Navigator Titan's success is not only about inspections and compliance. The crew is made up of people from different nationalities, backgrounds, and cultures, working together every day at sea. Under Captain Lacuesta, the vessel has built a culture of respect, teamwork, and camaraderie. The crew came together for special moments like a Father's Day celebration, the Day of the Seafarer, and get-togethers that gave everyone a chance to relax, bond, and feel appreciated.

Life at sea is not easy. Cargo operations, tight schedules, maintenance work, and inspections bring daily challenges. Still, the crew of Navigator Titan continues to show that with good leadership, respect, and teamwork, these challenges can be overcome.

The entire crew of M/T Navigator Titan deserve recognition for their dedication, professionalism, and commitment to excellence both on deck and engine department as a united team. Congratulations to everyone on board for this remarkable achievement!
