The Treasury Staff (Bank Relations) is responsible for maintaining strong relationships with banks and financial institutions to facilitate the organization's financial operations. This role involves coordinating with various departments to ensure efficient cash management, optimizing banking services, and managing banking documentation.
DUTIES, RESPONSBILITIES & OUTPUTS:
1. Bank Relationship Management:
- Develop and nurture strong relationships with
banks and financial institutions.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all banking-
related matters.
- Negotiate terms and conditions with banks to
optimize services and minimize costs.
- Stay updated on banking industry trends and
regulatory changes that may impact the organization.
2. Cash Management:
- Monitor daily cash positions and forecast cash
flows to ensure adequate liquidity.
- Execute cash management strategies to optimize
cash balances and minimize idle cash.
- Initiate and approve electronic fund transfers,
including wires, ACH, and other payment methods.
-Coordinate with accounting and finance teams to
reconcile bank accounts and resolve discrepancies.
3. Banking Operations:
- Oversee the opening and closing of bank accounts
as needed.
- Manage banking documentation, including
account agreements, signature cards, and
resolutions.
- Ensure compliance with banking regulations and
internal policies.
- Review and approve bank fees and service charges
for accuracy and reasonableness.
4. Financial Analysis and Reporting:
- Assist in preparing financial reports related to cash
management and banking activities.
- Analyze bank fees, interest rates, and other
banking costs to identify potential savings
opportunities.
- Generate ad hoc reports and analysis as requested
by management.
5. Risk Management:
- Assess and mitigate risks associated with banking
relationships and cash management activities.
- Implement controls to safeguard against fraud,
unauthorized transactions, and operational errors.
- Monitor compliance with internal controls and
recommend improvements as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related
field.
-Prior experience in treasury operations, cash
management, or banking.
Requirements :
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
-Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial software
applications.
- Knowledge of banking regulations and financial
markets.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
effectively.
