𝗦𝘆𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆-𝗨𝗣 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀 𝗖𝗲𝗯𝘂

The Synergy-UP programme recently reached Cebu, bringing together junior and senior officers from across Central Visayas for a day focused on professional development, leadership and career progression.

Designed to support the growth of future shipboard leaders, Synergy-UP provides seafarers with greater visibility into career pathways, promotion requirements and the skills needed to take on higher responsibilities at sea.

The session was facilitated by Capt. Krish, Capt. Malong and Chief Engineer Balot, who shared practical insights drawn from their own experience at sea and ashore. Discussions centred on leadership, professional development and the evolving expectations placed on today's maritime professionals.

Beyond technical competence, the programme reflects a broader commitment to helping seafarers build long-term and rewarding careers within the organisation.

The event concluded with a dinner attended by crew members and their families, providing an opportunity to reconnect ashore, strengthen relationships and celebrate individual achievements.

In celebration of the 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐨 𝐒𝐞𝐚𝐟𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐫 on 25 June 2026, the Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) is officially 𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 𝐆𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐝 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐭. This prestigious award recognizes Filipino seafarers who demonstrate exceptional skill, dedication, and significant contributions to the maritime industry.

Do you know a seafarer who has gone above and beyond? Here is what you need to know:

🚢 𝐖𝐡𝐨 𝐂𝐚𝐧 𝐁𝐞 𝐍𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝?

Nominees must be Filipino citizens currently employed with at least 12 months of sea service and a clear professional record. We are looking for individuals who have:

1. Performed exemplary tasks enhancing maritime safety and environmental protection.
2. Pioneered innovative solutions or technologies for the industry.

📝 𝐍𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐃𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐬:

Who can nominate: Licensed Manning Agencies, Shipping Companies, and Non-government Maritime Organizations.
