While in Davao, our Marine Personnel Recruitment Manager, Anton de Arca, took the opportunity to pay a casual visit to our NSA Batch 29 and Batch 32 cadets at the DMMA College of Southern Philippines.

The visit included a small meal gathering, casual conversations, and an opportunity to reconnect with our future maritime professionals. Anton also shared a few words of wisdom about the maritime profession, the responsibilities that come with a life at sea, and the values and standards we hope our cadets will uphold as future Wilhelmsen seafarers.

At Wilhelmsen, we believe that our role goes beyond sponsorship. Seafaring is ultimately about people. Every cadet has a story, a dream, and a journey ahead. Whenever possible, we want our cadets to know that they are seen, supported, and part of something bigger than themselves.

Today, we proudly dispatched the officers and crew for our newly taken-over bulk carrier vessels, with the majority of the crew being Filipino seafarers.

This is another important step in the continued growth of Wilhelmsen and our commitment to creating more opportunities for our Filipino seafarers.

At Wilhelmsen, we believe that young seafarers are the future of our industry.

Today, we are happy to welcome the NSA Batch 31 cadets from Lyceum International Maritime Academy (LPU-Batangas) as they visit Wilhelmsen, their sponsoring company, and begin their journey with us.

This batch is made up of 12 cadets, including 4 female cadets. We are proud to see more women choosing a career at sea and becoming part of the next generation of maritime professionals.

We look forward to supporting their learning and development as they prepare for their first vessel assignments.

Deck Cadet Jules Karl Mahinay, together with fellow seafarers, reached the summit of Mt. Apo โ€” 2,954 meters above sea level โ€” and raised the Wilhelmsen flag together with the Norwegian flag.

Some moments remind us what this industry is truly about. ๐Ÿ’™

Recently aboard M/V Donald M. James, we celebrated a very special milestone as AB Mr. Ariel marked his retirement after an extraordinary 20 years of dedicated service at sea.

For two decades, he has shown up with professionalism, reliability, and commitment โ€” not only doing his job well, but also earning the respect and friendship of everyone fortunate enough to sail alongside him. These are the people who quietly shape our vessels, our culture, and our success.

As a token of appreciation for his loyal service, he was presented with a commemorative plaque and a farewell gift from his fellow crew members. More than the gifts themselves, it was the heartfelt gratitude and respect shared by everyone on board that made the occasion truly meaningful.

At Wilhelmsen, we often speak about people being at the heart of what we do. Stories like Mr. Ariel's remind us why. Long careers are built on trust, mutual respect, and a genuine sense of belonging.
