From being a Paralegal Studies student at LPU-Batangas to serving as OIC-Deputy Executive Director and Concurrent Chief of Staff of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED)—Central Office, Dr. Ian D. Evangelista, Bachelor of Arts major in Paralegal Studies, 2010, embodies a journey shaped by the values of LPU-Batangas.

At Lyceum, he learned to look beyond the words of the law and understand the people and realities behind every policy. That lesson continues to guide him as he helps shape and implement policies that impact students, educators, families, and institutions across Philippine higher education.

His journey reminds us that leadership is not simply about making decisions—it is about understanding their impact, listening to different perspectives, and serving with purpose. From the lessons of his teachers to the responsibilities he carries today, he continues to uphold the values of careful thinking, fairness, accountability, and service.

And while his role may now involve helping shape policies, he remains a lifelong learner—reading carefully, questioning honestly, and seeking to understand before deciding.

Because the education we receive is not meant to end with graduation. It becomes a foundation for how we lead, serve, and make a difference.
