Psychstart proudly congratulates our Director, Jojet Lamberto Mondares, PhD, RPsy, RPm, for being elected as the new Chair of the Psychological Association of the Philippines – Northern Luzon Chapter for the term 2026–2028

He will also serve as PAPNL’s representative to the Cordillera Regional Council for Mental Health, further strengthening collaborative efforts in advancing mental health awareness, accessibility, and community-based care in the region.

🌱 Balik-Pangarap: Helping Dreams Continue Despite Crisis

Education should never have to stop because of poverty, crisis, or lack of support.

Through Balik-Pangarap, Psychstart continues its commitment to helping children and families hold on to hope, dignity, and the possibility of a better future. This initiative reminds us that mental health is also connected to having the chance to dream, learn, and move forward despite life’s challenges.

For this outreach, ten student volunteers from Saint Louis University, School of Engineering and Architecture, Department of Chemical and Mining Engineering extended support to a family of thirteen. School supplies, school bags, hygiene kits with toothbrushes and toothpaste, and lunch boxes were given to the incoming Kindergarten twins, along with groceries for the family.

These simple gifts carry a deeper message: your dreams matter, and you are not alone.💕

This week’s reflection reminds us that people cope with loss in different ways. Some may talk about dreams, signs, or premonitions after losing a loved one, not always to prove something is true, but to help carry the weight of grief and make sense of what feels unbearable.

You may not always share the same beliefs, and that is alright. In moments like these, what matters most is not deciding who is right or wrong. What matters is being present, listening without judgment, and allowing people space to grieve in their own way. 🌱

Last May 13,2026, Psychstart Director Jojet Lamberto Reglos Mondares, was invited as a resource speaker for Kabatiran: Psychological First Aid Training at the Regional Science and Research Center.

With the theme “Hearts in Action: Building Capacity with Empathy and Reason,” the training gathers Psychology students, faculty members, and student leaders to strengthen their skills in providing grounded, compassionate, and trauma-informed support during times of crisis.

We are grateful to be part of initiatives that prepare future mental health advocates to respond with empathy, presence, and care when it matters most. 💙
