As we enter the third month of 2025, our projects so far have been fast paced with exceptional results. Our Removal team has been chipping away at 1800m2 of interior plaster that was used on the exterior of the Mendoza apartments, from the 1930’s. Due to the many leaks this building has seen, our removal process along with the seismic strengthening will bring this building up to New building standards. This building is one of many around Wellington city currently undergoing earthquake strengthening
We’ve finished our first demo for the year. Working with the Greater Wellington Regional Council to remove the old club rooms and hanger of the former Gliders Club up in Kaitoke. The club room was contaminated with Asbestos Containing Materials. After the ACM was removed, the club room was brought down safely the same day. The hanger used for the aircrafts was dismantled and purchased by an Upper Hutt local to use within his honey making business and the timber framing within the hanger was recycled. The GWRC is still after a proposal for this now empty landhttps://www.gw.govt.nz/assets/Documents/2024/05/EOI-Information-Pack-for-glider-club-site-Pakuratahi.pdf
The first half of March is to demo three residential homes. A fire damaged property and the other two for our partners Kāinga Ora. These houses were first assessed to be upgraded with their retro fit program, unfortunately upon closer inspection, bora worm has completely eroded the integrity of these old homes
We have had an awesome start to the year with our team, and we want to say a somber goodbye to one of our cherished Supervisors Phil who leaves us for his OE. Phil I’ll miss you mate and thank you for your knowledge and dedication to your role. You’ve outlasted many and taught heaps to the rest of the boys, including myself
