Poroporoaki Tyson, your next chapter awaits 🌏

After 10 months of mahi with MTFJ Horowhenua, Tyson is preparing to head overseas and take on a new adventure ✈️

During his time with us, Tyson has supported nearly 40 rangatahi into employment - opening doors, creating opportunities and helping our young people take important steps towards their futures 🙌🏽

But his impact goes far beyond the numbers. Through his mahi, Tyson has helped enhance the mana of so many rangatahi, building confidence, encouraging potential and reminding our young people of the value they bring to the world 💚

🗣️ some final words from Tyson:

'It has been a privilege seeing the growth and development within our candidates. Knowing that MTFJ played a part in that is an honour. This world is what you make of it, the more you put into it, the more you’ll get out. So push yourself and try new things that you wouldn’t usually be comfortable doing. Aim high' 🦉

Tyson, as you step forward into this next chapter, may the beautiful taonga bestowed upon you continue to guide and protect you. May they bring you strength, keep you grounded in who you are and provide you with safe passage wherever your journey takes you ❤️

Having first aid knowledge means our rangatahi are better equipped to contribute to a safer workplace, support their teammates and respond when it matters. These are valuable skills that demonstrate initiative, responsibility and a willingness to learn — qualities employers value across all industries 👷🏽‍♀️👨🏽‍🔧

We were also privileged to have Mayor Bernie Wanden join us and share some motivational words of encouragement with our rangatahi 🙌🏽

A great reminder that investing in our young people and backing their potential helps create stronger pathways into employment, and a stronger community ❤️

We're absolutely thrilled to celebrate Brandi who has also been honoured with a ✨️ TARAMAINUKU – Mana Taiohi/ Youth Award at the HDC Kaimahi Awards 🎉👏

Brandi joined Council through the MTFJ programme and has quickly become a standout member of the team. Her passion, commitment, and outstanding contribution to both Council and the community have made a lasting impact, and it's wonderful to see her recognised for her mahi.
