This week, meet the office's biscuit box guardian: Archie Bishop

The basics:
Nelson born, Michelle & Jason adopted me at 8 weeks and I moved to Christchurch.

Your role in a nutshell:
I come to Sourced most days, I'm in the office by 9, ideally out for a walk at lunchtime (Wednesday is long walk day around Hagley with the team) and otherwise I"m catching sun through the office window, or chasing the other floofs in our office building.

How you got here:
Michelle & Jason decided it would be great have an office floof and so here I am.

Best part of the job:
Best part of the job is getting to stalk Michelle, whereever she goes, catch up with the other floofs here, and get out and about town on adventures.

Hidden talent:
I'm pretty handy at catching rabbits on the farm.

Desk essentials:
Rope, collar and leash

Current obsession:
Currently obsessed with Michelle (I like to watch her every move), and walkies of course.

Life outside work:
When I'm not at work, I'm at home with by big brother Turbo, sitting on the front of the 4WD going on adventures around the farm, and generally living my best rural life.

This week, meet our Recruitment Queen and 1/2 of the founding duo - Michelle

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐜𝐬:
Christchurch based, born and bred. I'm one of the founders of Sourced, now part of the wider Expert360 family. I've been with Sourced since day one, February 2011

𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐚 𝐧𝐮𝐭𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐥:
A typical day for me is pretty unpredictable (which I love). A given is that I'm in the office by 9, out and about seeing candidates and clients, sneaking in exercise, and/or catching up on admin depending on the day

𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐠𝐨𝐭 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞:
I accidentally fell into recruitment, after being made redundant from a Sales Support role that my recruiter had placed me into. When I returned to her seeking a new job, she suggested I try recruitment, and I figured, what did I have to lose. That was in 2004!

𝐁𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐣𝐨𝐛:
The best part of the job is changing the course of peoples lives, ideally for the better. As cheesy as this sounds it's a really privileged position to be in. I've worked with candidates right throughout their careers, often helping them through multiple career transitions, and they often become hiring managers in turn. Christchurch is such a village!

𝐇𝐢𝐝𝐝𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐭: No hidden talents, but I'm pretty handy with a pair of roller skates

𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐤 𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐬:
Fizzy water, ear pods, my glasses (stink).

Generally chasing the latest limited series on Netflix, arm wrestling my son for Spotify playtime, or listenging to autobiographical Audiobooks.

𝐋𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤:
When I'm not working, I'm usually at home with my boys, going on 4WD adventures on the farm, and generally living the Mum life. I'm also currently helping to establish a new Primary School in Halswell which is taking up a lot of free time.

Meet our Recruitment Consultant - Alia

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐜𝐬:
Originally from Malaysia, now based in Christchurch… and already 10 months at Sourced!

𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐚 𝐧𝐮𝐭𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐥:
A mix of going through applications, calling candidates, and bouncing between meetings… with a mid-day “galavant” around the city to reset my brain~

𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐠𝐨𝐭 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞:
I started out studying Law and went all the way through to the UK Bar. One day I decided I wanted to do something different, and somehow ended up in recruitment after a random social media comment unexpectedly led to an interview. It’s always a funny story to tell!

𝐁𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐣𝐨𝐛:
Honestly, just being a recruiter overall. It sounds cliché, but it’s so rewarding helping people out, especially knowing how stressful job hunting can be (we’ve all been there). Plus, meeting new people is a bonus!

𝐇𝐢𝐝𝐝𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐭:
I did some performing in high school and college, mainly singing for events, including a performance for Diana King. I also enjoy painting and even sold some of my artwork during COVID.

𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐤 𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐬:
Hand cream to fight the Christchurch weather, perfume so I always smell good, and my rotating selection of lippies. 💄

𝐂𝐮𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐛𝐬𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧:
I'm HOOKED on Horizon Forbidden West (I know I’m late to the party), and my 2026 Spotify playlist, which is a mix of Zara Larsson, Harry Styles, Sienna Spiro, and random club beats I vibe to.

𝐋𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤:
There’s always a 50% chance you’ll find me galavanting around the city with my headphones on the weekends. Otherwise, I’m at home playing with my cat and spending hours on my PlayStation 😂

The basics:
Born in Sri Lanka, raised in Qatar and now calling Christchurch home after 9+ years here. I've been with the Sourced team for almost 5 of those.

Your role in a nutshell:
A hodge-podge of admin and recruitment. In the office by 8:45, assess the vibes to determine the office playlist, make a delicious cardamom coffee, check everyone's calendars, review, respond to and screen new registrations and applications, source new candidates on LinkedIn and most importantly, stock the biscuit box.

How you got here:
I graduated with a BCOM in Human Resources & Management and completed a short stint in Payroll support before joining Sourced as a Recruitment Resourcer.

Best part of the job:
Interacting with candidates who have recently arrived in New Zealand and want to call it their new home. I've been in those shoes, so I try to provide as much advice and insight as I can so they are able to put their best foot forward. There's so much valuable experience out there!

Hidden talent:
I was a theatre kid and played Mrs. Potts in my high school's rendition of The Beauty and the Beast.

Desk essentials:
Headphones, a hot tea or coffee, snacks and a smattering of books and papers for impromptu candidate screens.

Current obsession:
Absolutely OBSESSED with The Pitt on NEON and acid techno for the gym.

Life outside work:
Constantly catching up with friends and exploring new places around Christchurch / the South Island or pottering around the garden

Six months ago, we were asking whether the market had hit rock bottom. Short-term contracts dominated, permanent hiring was almost non-existent, and most candidates were too nervous to move. A lot can change in half a year.
