🍄 How to replace picking lorries?

For a number of our clients, especially in North America, Dutch Mushroom Projects has designed a catwalk system. It is installed at the level of the third shelf and allows workers to walk comfortably while picking mushrooms from the upper beds.

🙋‍♂️In practice, your growing room gets two working levels.
The metal catwalks installed by Dutch Mushroom Projects are highly durable and designed for long-term use.

Advantages of a catwalk system:

✅ Higher safety
In countries where safety insurance costs are high and employee claims can be expensive, a catwalk can be one of the safest solutions.

✅ No harvesting delays caused by lorry breakdowns
With a catwalk system, harvesting continues without interruption. Picking lorries can break down and stop the harvesting process, leading to repair costs, replacement costs, and lost time.

✅ More comfort for pickers
Workers feel move more comfortably while harvesting mushrooms from the upper beds.

Dutch Mushroom Projects also offers catwalk systems with an optional movable platform and an optional electric hoisting system.
A catwalk solution is not suitable for every mushroom farm. However, if you value simplicity, safety, and cost-effectiveness, it may be the right choice.
