Ironworker – Section Construction

Job Description
For a construction company we are looking for a ironworker wich can do heavy construction work for plates.

Tasks and Responsibilities
General Activities
• Preparing and reading drawings, welding instructions, and assessing the situation to gain insight into the shape and dimensions of welds and the required quality.
• Checking the workpiece to ensure that the pre-processing meets drawing specifications regarding shape, dimensions, and cleanliness.
• Making various construction connections.
• Verifying whether the required parts are available and checking whether pre-processed components meet the specifications (shape, dimensions, cleanliness, etc.).
Ironwork
• Pre-processing and cutting plates and profiles to size.
• Fitting (using cutting, grinding, etc.) and assembling.
• Welding mig/mag tackwelding, horizontal/vertical and overhead welding
• Taking measures (e.g., welding reinforcements) to prevent deformation during welding.
• Aligning, precisely positioning, and fitting engine parts and constructions, in the workshop.

Required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) – Must Be Brought by the Worker
• Coverall.
• Safety helmet (no BLUE or RED helmets).
• Safety shoes.
• Safety glasses.
• Hearing protection.
• A valid VCA certificate Dutch one

For a client in the Breda area, we are looking for an experienced pipefitter with some experience in offshore projects.

The Client:

The client is a construction company that carries out large-scale projects related to engineering and the offshore industry.

The Position:
Your responsibilities include assembling pipelines of 3 to 5 centimeters, performing tack welding, and cutting.
It is essential that you can read technical drawings (non-isometric).
We Are Looking For:
• Demonstrable work experience as a pipefitter in the offshore sector
• Ability to read technical drawings
• Living in the area or in possession of your own transport
• A valid VCA certificate (this is a strict requirement)

Looking for a foreman near Rotterdam in Shipyards.

As a Section Construction Foreman, you play an important role in supervising the construction of the vessel (section and/or superstructure construction).

A superyacht contains a large amount of metal, from steel to aluminium.

In the Metal department, the construction process begins with assembling small components,
which are then put together into sections (blocks up to a maximum of 100 tons).

These sections are subsequently joined to form a complete hull, ranging from 60 to over 100
meters.

Your responsibilities as a Section Construction Foreman:
• Together with your colleagues from the Ironwork department (approximately 85
people), you will (have) a steel hull constructed;
• Coordinating and (having) production activities carried out on board or on
location;
• Monitoring capacity planning, distributing tasks and explaining them during daily
start-up meetings, including timely reporting of deviations;
• Inspecting completed work for quality, adherence to safety regulations, and
workplace order;
• Registering working hours, monitoring progress, coaching/motivating employees,
and handling leave and absenteeism.
Job Requirements
We ask for:
• At least an MBO 4 level of working and thinking, based on education and/or
experience;
• Completed technical, practical training in Shipbuilding or a related field;
• A strong work ethic: you enjoy coming to work but also value a healthy work-life
balance;
• Possession of a valid VCA or VCA-Vol certificate;
• At least 5 years of work experience in the field;
• At least 2 years of experience as a (deputy) supervisor in the field.
• Ability to communicate in Dutch and English;
