From Metalworker to Robot Welding Operator - Growth through curiosity and ambition

This week, we visited Roman at Kasteel Metaal, where he has been working for over a year 👏
Roman came to the Netherlands from Ukraine. When he first arrived, he didn’t speak much English—but he was curious, ambitious, and determined to grow 💪
From day one, he was supported by his LabourLink job coach, René Hollart. René helped him secure his first interview, prepared him for success, and continues to stay closely involved—visiting the workplace regularly and ensuring strong collaboration with the client.
When Roman started as a metalworker, he already had a clear goal: to become a welder. Together with the client, René helped create that opportunity. Step by step, Roman took on new responsibilities.
Today, he works as a robot operator, gaining experience that will prepare him for laser welding 🚀
During our visit, Roman shared something that truly stayed with us:
"If you are driven and motivated and willing to work hard, you can achieve your goals. And the people around you will support you to become your best self."
