“How happy are you in your new job?”

Marcé’s answer says pretty much everything:

“I am excited every day to get up and go to work. I can’t wait!” 😄

Not bad for the next chapter of a story that, only a short while earlier, had Marcé and his family wondering what on earth was going to happen next.

Today, he is working as a DevOps Engineer at CIBG, part of the Dutch Ministry of Health, and absolutely loving it.

Variety. Great people. Interesting projects. And apparently, government work is not quite what he expected. 😉

We recently received our new company photos from the photographer and honestly… what a difference three years can make. 😄

Looking back at older photos reminded us how much has happened over the past few years. Our team has changed, our work has evolved, and we’ve helped many more South African professionals take the big step towards building a life and career in the Netherlands.

What happens when you move your whole family to the Netherlands and your job suddenly falls through?

That is exactly what happened to Marcé Olivier.

His biggest worry was not just finding another job.

It was the possibility of uprooting his children for the second time in less than a year.

What makes a family pack up their life in South Africa and move to the Netherlands? 🇿🇦✈️🇳🇱

For Marcé Olivier, it came down to something pretty simple.

He wanted his three children to grow up with the kind of freedom he remembered from his own childhood. And, as a family that had always wanted to travel, Europe looked like a pretty exciting place to call home. 🌍

A year later, Marcé says life in the Netherlands feels more balanced and the famous Dutch work life balance is very real.

But their journey did not go entirely according to plan...

🔌 Bearings, motors, pumps, sensors, controllers, all in a day's work
🛠️ Red Seal, N4-N6 or equivalent qualification
🚗 Valid driver's licence, fluent in English and Afrikaans
🕐 Comfortable with shift work and fast decisions
