Chungin “Roy” Lee, a 21-year-old Columbia student, was suspended for developing an AI tool that supports candidates during live interviews. He then raised $5.3 million for his startup and landed an internship at Amazon — using his own tool.

The product? A hidden browser overlay that feeds real-time answers during interviews, exams, and even sales calls.

Critics say it’s cheating.

Supporters argue it’s no different than companies using AI to assess candidates — so why shouldn’t candidates level the playing field?

It raises some big questions:
