The RSS Nigeria local group meeting on handling and analysing spatiotemporal data using ArcGIS and R softwares started at 10am on Wednesday, 3 April 2019.

The meeting sessions were divided into two. The first part of the meeting was handled by Dr Tolulope Osayomi from Department of Geography, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ibadan, Nigeria. He explained extensively the introduction of spatial analysis concept, types and properties of spatial analysis, issues with spatial data and the techniques such as Nearest Neighbour Analysis, Global Moran’s Index I, Local Moran Index I, Local Getis Ord and Kriging (Ordinary and Inverse Distance Weight). Licensed ArcGIS software was installed for all participants for the practical / hands-on session.
