Job Summary
The Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the company's financial records, preparing accurate financial reports, managing budgets, monitoring cash flow, ensuring tax compliance, and supporting management with financial insights that drive business growth.
The ideal candidate must possess strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Maintain accurate accounting records and ledgers.
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
Reconcile bank statements and financial transactions.
Monitor cash flow and financial performance.
Prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and tax obligations.
Process payroll and related financial documentation.
Conduct financial analysis and provide strategic recommendations.
Support internal and external audit processes.
Monitor inventory-related financial transactions.
Implement and improve accounting controls and procedures.
Utilize accounting software for financial reporting and record-keeping.
Requirements
Educational Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
Professional certification such as ACA, ACCA, ICAN, or equivalent will be an added advantage.
Experience
Minimum of 3–5 years of accounting experience.
Experience in retail, FMCG, e-commerce, supermarket, or grocery business environments is highly preferred.
Technical Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
Strong understanding of financial reporting standards.
Knowledge of Nigerian tax laws and regulatory compliance.
Experience with budgeting and financial forecasting.
Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
