The most effective youth initiatives are the ones that focus on a wide range of developmental needs (WIA 1998). Our comprehensive approach for adolescent development consists of 10 required program elements. 1. Tutoring, study skills training, and instruction leading to completion of secondary school, including dropout prevention strategies. 2. Alternative secondary school services. 3. Summer programs and employment opportunities that are directly linked to academic and occupational learning. 4. Paid and unpaid work experiences, including internship and job shadowing. 5. Occupational skill training. 6. Leadership development opportunities; which includes community service and peer-centered activities encouraging responsibility and other positive social behaviors during non-school hours. 7. Surpotive services. 8. Adult mentoring. 9. Follow-up services as appropriate. 10. Comprehensive guidance and counseling. Impact Networks gives young people the opportunity to take on new roles and responsibilities through her initiatives and the community. Impact Networks’ teen development is a process which prepares young people to meet the challenges of adolescence and adulthood through a coordinated, progressive series of activities and experiences which help them to become socially, morally,emotionally,physically,and cognitively competent. Impact Networks addresses the broader developmental needs of youth instead of focusing solely on youth problems. Our expectations at GLOBAL IMPACT INTERACTIVE NETWORK As young people participate in our teen development activities we expect the following; a, increased self esteem, increased popularity, increased sense of personal control and enhanced identity development. b, Better development of such life skills as leadership and speaking in public, decision-making, and increased dependability and responsibility. c Greater communication in the family. d, Fewer psychosocial problems, such as loneliness,shyness,and hopelessness. e, Decreased involvement in risky behaviors such as drug use and decreased juvenile delinquency. f, Increased academic achievement, and g, Increased safety. NATIONALTEEN LEADING LEADERS PROGRAM (NTLLP). 5. NIGERIA STUDENTS CAREER FAIR (NSCF). 6. IMPACT SPORTS ACADEMY (ISA). 7. IMPACT PARENT/TEACHERS FORUM (IPTF). 8.
