What if your children don’t want to run the business you spent your life building?

That doesn’t necessarily mean the business has to end with you.

As Abiola Adediran (Abiola Adediran) shared on Omon’s Couch, your children can inherit the ownership without necessarily taking on the management.

You can bring in professionals to run the business while the family retains ownership. But for that to work, the business needs the right foundation: good governance, a strong board, capable management, and proper systems and controls.

If you’re always copying what works for someone else, when do you get to discover what works for you?

As Christine Adeyanju (Christine OluShola Adeyanju (COA)) shared on Omon’s Couch, copying other people’s work can keep you within the limits of someone else’s thinking.

You can learn from others without becoming a copy of them.

Take the inspiration, but bring your own ideas, experiences and perspective to it. That’s where originality starts.

Abigail Chams (Abigail Chams) is adding another major milestone to an already impressive journey.

Her love for music started early, learning the piano at just five years old before growing into a multi-instrumentalist and building a name for herself in Tanzania’s music scene. She later signed with Sony Music Africa, released songs like “Nani?” and made history with a BET Award nomination.

Her impact also extends beyond music. Since becoming a UNICEF Youth Advocate in 2020, Abigail has used her platform to speak about mental health, gender equality and issues affecting young people.

Now, she has been appointed UNICEF Tanzania’s National Ambassador, continuing her work for children and young people across the country.

Congratulations, Abigail Chams, on this incredible milestone!

Stop making excuses. Start creating results.

Sometimes, you’re not stuck because you don’t know what to do.

You’re stuck because you keep waiting for the perfect time, better tools, or more confidence.

But business doesn’t work that way.

Use what you have. Start where you are. Fix things along the way.

You may not get it right the first time, but at least you’ll have something to improve.

Share this with someone who needs to stop overthinking and start taking action.

The next step in your journey may become clearer when you hear how someone else navigated theirs.

That’s what makes stories worth listening to.

On Omon's Couch, we sit down with women who have built businesses, led teams, taken bold steps, faced setbacks, and learned valuable lessons along the way.

Their stories remind us that success rarely follows a straight path.

There are decisions that test you, failures that teach you, and moments that push you to grow into the person your journey requires.

Great work starts with caring about what you do.

When you genuinely enjoy the work, you’re more willing to learn, improve, solve problems, and keep going when things get tough.

As an entrepreneur, passion may get you started, but consistency and a willingness to get better are what turn good work into great work.

Build something you care about, and keep getting better at it.

What’s one thing you’re committed to getting better at in your business?

Sometimes, the bigger question is not just how much we earn, but how willing we are to find ways to earn more and spend smarter.

Don’t let shame stop you from trying something new. Learn an extra skill. Explore new opportunities. Look at your expenses and cut what you don’t really need.

There’s no shame in starting small. The goal is to keep growing.

A powerful reminder from Sola Adesakin (Sola Adesakin | Finance & Wealth Coach |) on Omon’s Couch.

What’s one thing you’re doing to increase your income or manage your expenses better?
