This is an interesting Business Autopsy Report

Cause of Death: Growth Stagnation

A business in Ibadan was making ₦15m monthly revenue.

Three years later…

Still ₦15m.

Same location.
Same product.
Same demand.

But the owner keeps saying:

“Nigeria is hard.”
“The economy is bad.”
“Customers don’t have money.”

Maybe.

But let’s open the file.

Autopsy Finding #1: The “Loyal” Manager

Promoted because he has been there for 7 years.
But cannot read a profit & loss statement.
Cannot drive strategy.
Cannot enforce structure.

Loyalty is good.
Competence is better.

Autopsy Finding #2: The Accountant Who Only Records

She posts entries.
Prints receipts.
Balances books.

But cannot interpret cash flow.
Cannot advise on cost control.
Cannot detect financial leaks early.

Recording money is not the same as managing money.

Autopsy Finding #3: No Performance Standards

No KPIs.
No targets.
No measurable expectations.

So everyone is “trying their best.”
But nobody is driving growth.

Final Diagnosis

The business is not stuck because of Nigeria.

It is stuck because the wrong people are sitting in critical seats.

- Ensure all utilities (lights, water, AC, generator, etc.) are functioning; promptly report faults to management
- Turn on/off the generator as required & monitor fuel usage
- Keep accurate records of guest movements, room occupancy & housekeeping schedules

Requirements:
- Male
- 27–40 years
- Minimum of SSCE/OND
- Previous experience in hospitality, housekeeping or customer service is an added advantage
- Well-spoken, neat, organized & attentive to detail
- Ability to handle basic facility support (generator operation, minor checks, etc.)
- Good customer service & communication skills
- Must be courteous, trustworthy & able to work with minimal supervision
- MUST be Abe to provide suitable guarantors
- Should willing to stay within the apartment premises.

- Oversee the civil works component of telecom site build projects from planning to final handover, ensuring all activities are executed to specification, on schedule & within budget
- Plan & design telecom site layouts, ensuring optimal positioning of BTS shelters, towers, equipment pads, cable routes & related infrastructure in line with technical standards
- Coordinate with local authorities to secure all required permits, approvals & documentation for excavation, tower installation & other civil works activities
- Supervise construction activities end-to-end — including site clearing, foundation works, trenching, tower er****on, fencing, earthing systems & equipment base construction
- Ensure strict compliance with project drawings, technical specifications, quality standards, safety regulations & Nigerian construction codes
- Conduct routine site inspections to verify workmanship, resolve discrepancies promptly & implement corrective measures where necessary
- Liaise professionally with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, engineers & community representatives to ensure smooth project ex*****on
- Prepare & update daily, weekly & monthly project progress reports, including site diaries, photographs, material usage & work completion records
- Maintain accurate documentation for each site — permits, approvals, test results, as-built drawings, snag lists & close-out reports
- Manage project budgets effectively — track expenses, verify contractor claims, prevent cost overruns & ensure cost-efficient resource utilization
- Identify project risks early, recommend mitigation strategies & ensure any site issues are resolved promptly to avoid delays
- Ensure proper implementation of HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) guidelines, conducting toolbox meetings & enforcing safety compliance at all times
- Provide technical guidance to contractors & field teams, ensuring adherence to best practices & industry standards
- Coordinate with telecom network deployment teams to align civil works with installation & integration schedules.

Requirements:
- Male
- 30 - 40 years
- 5–7 years’ proven experience as a Telecom Civil Works Site Engineer, preferably with major telecom operators or infrastructure companies
- Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Strong understanding of telecom site build processes: greenfield, rooftop & upgrade projects
- Solid knowledge of foundation design, tower er****on, fencing, earthing, trenching & structural integrity requirements
- Excellent ability to read & interpret engineering drawings, structural designs & technical specifications
- Familiarity with Nigerian telecom construction standards, regulatory requirements & environmental guidelines
- Proficiency in project management, documentation, reporting & site supervision
- Strong communication, leadership & stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple sites & meet strict project deadline
- High attention to detail, with strong problem-solving abilities
- Professional certifications (COREN, PMP or telecom deployment certifications) are an added advantage
- Must be physically fit & willing to travel to multiple sites as required.
