📢 LATEST UPDATE: FOREIGN WORKER APPLICATION 2026

The Ministry of Human Resources (KESUMA) has officially announced a new application process for foreign worker recruitment, effective 22 August 2026.

✅ Foreign worker applications can now be submitted online through FWCMS
✅ Application process begins with Section 60K approval
✅ Complete applications that meet the required criteria may obtain the Surat Kelulusan Bersyarat (SKB) within 14 days
✅ Employer interview appointments with AKS will also be arranged through the system
✅ Manual and walk-in applications will no longer be the main application method

🍽️ Important update for the Restaurant Industry

The Government previously announced a quota of 15,000 foreign workers for the restaurant sector.

• 5,000 quota involving 1,033 employers who have already undergone case-by-case interviews are currently being processed.
• The remaining 10,000 quota must be submitted as new applications through the system.

⚠️ Please note that the digitalisation of the application process does not mean the eligibility requirements have been relaxed. Applications remain subject to Government regulations, eligibility requirements and approval.

🇲🇾🇧🇩 **Malaysia Expected to Resume Recruitment of Bangladeshi Workers**

Malaysia is expected to begin receiving new Bangladeshi workers from the **last week of August 2026**.

During the initial phase, recruitment is expected to be prioritised through Bangladesh Overseas Employment and Services Limited (BOESL), while the authorities finalise the recruitment framework and approved agency arrangements.

This is a positive development for Malaysian employers facing manpower shortages. However, employers are advised to wait for the official procedures and Calling Visa application guidelines before making any recruitment arrangements or payments.
