Tribal casinos in Florida to get Craps and Roulette and need dealers and supervisors!
Last week, following approval from the U.S. Supreme Court the Seminole Casinos will not only be permitted to incorporate craps and roulette into their casinos but will also have the opportunity to establish three additional casinos on tribal land in Broward County.
In return, the tribe has committed to paying the state a minimum of $2.5 billion over the initial five years, with the potential for billions more throughout the thirty-year agreement.
This announcement comes after more than two years of legal disputes surrounding a 2021 deal between the tribe and the state, which granted the Seminoles the ability to offer online sports betting throughout Florida and introduce craps and roulette to their casinos.
While the agreement would enable statewide sports betting, the tribe has decided to initially focus on in-person sports betting at its six Florida facilities. However, it is important to note that a lawsuit challenging the broader implementation of online sports betting is still pending at the Florida Supreme Court.
The compact includes a unique "hub-and-spoke" plan, which allows gamblers to place mobile sports wagers from anywhere in Florida. These bets would be processed through computer servers located on tribal property. According to the terms of the deal, bets made using a mobile app or other electronic device will be considered exclusively conducted by the tribe.
In conclusion, the Seminole Tribe's announcement regarding the introduction of sports betting at their casinos signifies a significant development in the gambling landscape of Florida. With the potential for further expansion and the financial commitments outlined in the agreement, this move has far-reaching implications for both the tribe and the state. However, it is important to monitor the pending lawsuit challenging online sports betting to fully understand the future of this endeavour.
