Design Engineer

We are currently looking for a Design Engineer Position with one of the Construction Materials Manufacturing Companies.

The position is to be stationed in Thilawa Special Economic Zone, Yangon Region, Myanmar.

Responsibilities
• Develop structural designs and layouts for light gauge steel buildings using CAD and BIM tools
• Perform structural analysis and load calculations in compliance with international building codes
• Generate detailed shop drawings, assembly diagrams, and fabrication instructions
• Collaborate with architects, clients, sale and project team to understand design requirements
• Coordinate with production and construction teams to ensure design feasibility and accuracy.
• Provide technical support during installation and site ex*****on phases
• Offer customized design solutions based on project scope, budget, and site conditions
• Optimize designs for material efficiency, ease of assembly, and structural integrity
• Prepare engineering reports, specifications, and bill of materials (BOM)
• Ensure all designs meet relevant codes (e.g., AISI, AS/NZS, Eurocode) and safety standards
• Research new technologies and materials in light gauge steel construction
• Contribute to the development of design standards and best practices

Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Structural Engineering, or Architecture
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in steel structure design, preferably light gauge systems
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Tekla, or similar design software
• Strong understanding of cold-formed steel behavior and design principles
• Familiarity with international building codes and structural standards
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes for roll-formed steel components
• Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team and manage multiple projects

• Supervise receiving, storage, and dispatch of steel coils, accessories, finished components and consumable items of productions line
• Maintain organized and safe warehouse layout with proper labelling and stacking
• Ensure accurate documentation of stock movements and transactions
• Monitor inventory levels and conduct regular cycle counts and audits
• Coordinate with sale, production and design teams for material planning and replenishment.
