It was great to be back with the Talentor International community for an inspiring and energizing business meeting in Toronto, Canada.
We had the privilege of hearing from two outstanding Keynote Speakers - Jeff Kaye talking about “Building next level Firms” and Karen Schmidt talking about “Mastering Market Mastery” - sharing insights on how to build and scale truly next-level firms. A key takeaway for us was the importance of market mastery, strong teams, and continuous learning as foundations for long-term success.
Some additional (not new but absolutely valid) ideas that really stayed with us from the keynote:
• Becoming a true “market master” means deeply understanding both clients and candidates within your niche not just reacting, but anticipating needs 🎯
• Building a business today is about creating a “business within a business” model, where teams, culture, and infrastructure drive scalability. It allows flexibility and agility to not only survive, but thrive in times when another market shift is approaching us ⚙️
• The shift toward AI-powered tools and data-driven recruiting is no longer optional - it’s already reshaping how we work and compete 🤖
• Long-term success comes from investing in people, ownership mindset, and continuous development not just short-term placements (however now days a terminated, Interim management approach might become a favorable option again) 📈
BUT… What made this gathering special - it was the opportunity to reconnect with colleagues and meet new partners from across the network. These moments remind me how powerful collaboration and shared knowledge can be.
What stood out the most? The energy in the room - a mix of diverse perspectives, fresh thinking, and people who genuinely move things forward. When that kind of mindset comes together, ideas don’t just stay ideas - they turn into action. ⚡
At the same time, it was impossible not to notice that some of our peers couldn’t join us. The current global situation continues to impact businesses and people on many levels, and the recent developments added an angle on many of the topics. Hopefully, we’ll soon be able to meet again with everyone around the same table.
Grateful for the conversations, the insights, and the community. 🌍
P.S. And of course, we always try to discover something special in the countries we visit - this time we experienced the spectacular Niagara Falls, went to an NHL ice hockey game and tasted ice wines at the amazing Trius and Peller winery 🍷
