In the wake of events in Nova Scotia last weekend, I just wanted to let you know, if you do not already, of the television event this evening:
Nova Scotia Remembers: A Virtual Vigil (6p.m. ET) on CBC (likely networks too)
Also, today, the RCMP are inviting people to wear red and observe a minute of silence at 1:00 ET to honour Constable Heidi Stevenson.
God bless,
Cathy
"Lord of Love, we hold in our hearts the people of Nova Scotia, and send them our love and prayers.
We cannot understand, cannot find words to express our sadness, and indeed you already know the weight of grief this tragedy has brought.
As Canadians, we are all connected by this tragedy. We know that when one heart is broken by grief, countless hearts of family and community are broken too.
Be with families and communities reeling from what has happened there.
It is your Spirit, God, that holds us close, offers comfort, and fills our hurting and broken places with your love, when we hurt.
Gather our prayers, our tears, our expressions of care and bless them.
This prayer, I offer, trusting in your resurrection power.
Amen."
