The Federation of Kenya Employers (FKE) is proud to participate in the 9th Pan-African Adolescent and Youth Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (AYSRHR) Scientific Conference taking place in Mombasa from 2–5 June 2026.

Representing FKE at the conference are Stephen Obiro, Head of Research, Advocacy and Partnerships, and William Wandera, Projects Officer.

Together with Reproductive Health Network Kenya (RHNK) and the Danish Family Planning Association (DFPA), FKE is showcasing lessons and achievements from the Workplace Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights and Gender Equality (SRHR & GE) Project implemented in Kisumu County.

The project has demonstrated how integrating SRHR and gender equality into the workplace can strengthen employee wellbeing, enhance productivity, empower young workers, and promote safer and more inclusive work environments.

We look forward to sharing practical tools, evidence, and best practices that can support the replication of workplace SRHR interventions across Africa.

The Federation of Kenya Employers (FKE), through the Girls and Tech Programme, was proud to sponsor and participate in the Breaking Barriers: Women in STEM and Leadership event held at Mount Kenya University.

The event brought together Students, inspiring women leaders, and STEM professionals for meaningful conversations on leadership, innovation, career growth, and the realities facing women in STEM fields today.

As the Girls and Tech Programme continues to inspire more young women to pursue STEM subjects and careers, we are equally committed to addressing the challenges that contribute to the dropout rates among the girls enrolled in STEM courses at the university.

FKE was represented by Ms. Grace Kaome, Human Resources Manager, during Panel 2: Money, Negotiation & Structural Realities, where she shared valuable insights on navigating workplace challenges, overcoming systemic barriers, and empowering women to advocate for equitable opportunities and career advancement.

Through initiatives such as Girls and Tech, FKE remains committed to inspiring, mentoring, and equipping young women with the skills, networks, and confidence needed to thrive in STEM careers and leadership roles.

Together, we can create a future where more girls dream bigger, lead boldly, and innovate without limits.

The Federation of Kenya Employers, in partnership with NHO, continues to champion STEM education and careers for girls, working to break gender stereotypes and inspire more young women to pursue opportunities in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.

Last Saturday, we had the privilege of recognizing and awarding the best-performing students in the sciences at St. Mary's Girls High School in Isiolo during their prize-giving day.

Our journey with St Mary's Girls began last year with two mentorship sessions, during which we brought in women professionals in STEM fields to inspire the students, share their experiences, and create a safe space for the girls to ask questions, openly discuss their challenges, and receive guidance and support.

Seeing the progress the school has made has been truly inspiring:
πŸ“ˆ Business Studies mean grade improved from C to B+
πŸ“ˆ Physics mean grade improved from C to B+
πŸ“ˆ The mathematics mean grade improved from D to B
πŸ“ˆ Biology from D to B- and
πŸ“ˆ Chemistry improved from D to C

Moments like these remind us why this work matters. They show the real impact of investing in young girls, helping them believe in themselves, challenge stereotypes, and realize that they can achieve anything they set their minds to.

Congratulations, St Mary's Girls High School. Keep soaring higher β€” the future is yours.
