𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝟮𝗻𝗱 & 𝟯𝗿𝗱 𝗔𝗴𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗪𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗮 𝗦𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀!

We convened aggregators for the second and third training sessions focused on 𝗖𝗶𝗿𝗰𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝗘𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝘆 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗗𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗨𝗽𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗻.

What stood out throughout the engagement was the growing recognition that aggregators are not just collectors within the system, but key enablers of a more inclusive and efficient circular economy.

Through the discussions, participants highlighted the everyday realities shaping the sector; from fluctuating market demand and operational costs to the increasing need for digital visibility, traceability, and stronger market linkages.

The session also reinforced an important lesson:
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗮 𝗰𝗶𝗿𝗰𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝘆 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗯𝗲 𝗱𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗯𝘆 𝗽𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝘆 𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗲; 𝗶𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝘁𝗼𝗼𝗹𝘀.

As we continue implementing the 𝗔𝗱𝗼𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗶𝗿𝗰𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝗠𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗹𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 under the 𝗙𝗖𝗗𝗢 𝗥𝗖𝗖 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗙𝘂𝗻𝗱, these engagements remain critical in helping us identify practical solutions that can strengthen the waste-to-wealth ecosystem from the ground up.

We are excited to launch a structured pathway to build the next generation of circular economy entrepreneurs, by transitioning youth from waste pickers to waste entrepreneurs through our Ecosort Buy-Back Centres (BBCs).

We are inviting youth waste entrepreneurs to express interest in managing BBCs under a 6-month incubation and transition model .

𝗪𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗱𝘂𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝗼𝗿 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝗮𝗿𝗲:

𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝗽𝗼𝘁𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 | 𝗔𝗪𝗪𝗦 𝗜𝗜𝗜 – 𝗜𝗦𝗪𝗔 𝗔𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

We are proud to welcome the Africa Methane Community of Practice (AMCoP) as an official partner for the 𝗔𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮 𝗪𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗪𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁 𝗜𝗜𝗜 (𝗔𝗪𝗪𝗦 𝗜𝗜𝗜) – 𝗜𝗦𝗪𝗔 𝗔𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, taking place from 3rd–5th June in Nairobi, Kenya.

𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗙𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀: 𝗠𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗲 𝗠𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 & 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗪𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲 𝗦𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀.

The Africa Methane Community of Practice (AMCoP) is an Africa-led collaborative network that brings together practitioners, civil society, the private sector, researchers, and local communities to advance action on non-CO₂ emissions, with a particular focus on methane mitigation across the agriculture, energy, and waste sectors.

Their work is critical in turning methane mitigation into a tangible climate solution; unlocking environmental, economic and public health benefits across the continent.

Their leadership strongly aligns with the vision of 𝗔𝗪𝗪𝗦 𝗜𝗜𝗜 – 𝗜𝗦𝗪𝗔 𝗔𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 driving innovation, collaboration and investment in Africa’s circular economy.
